Guys, I'm speaking from sheer experience. Look, I'm an avid hiker. Not just any hiker. A through-hiker. I've walked many many days with backpacks of many kinds. I must've logged well over three or four thousand miles of hiking in my life. I've climbed mountains, ascended valleys, and cross entire biomes of terrain. In fact when Pokemon go came out, it didn't go home for 6 months. That's how much I walk. One of my favorite bags I've ever owned is an old 60L victorinox. It's a though-hiker's bag with a backboard. It's meant for mountain climbing, sledding and cross country-skiing. I can easily pack between 130 and 180 lbs in the thing without causing much of a setback. With those things, all the weight is diverted to your waist and hips. So you have hauling power at the cost mobility and comfort. This bag is comparable in design, versatility and durability. But with some added perks, like a built in USB charger port, and a lot better organization as well as front pockets. The modular design of a convertible backpack/duffle bag is one of my favorites. You only need one bag and you can adapt it. But where it differs greatly from the victorinox is in comfort and mobility. This backpack still diverts MOST of the weight to your hips but stabilizes around the shoulders better for a more glove-like fit. Without the rigid backboard you have 140-150° turning range of motion to get through those tight spots with the added benefit of a bag that sits flat to your back. The organization is effectively placed just for this benefit. I divides the weight distribution precisely (when packed correctly) at the small of the back and the bottom of shoulder blades. Although, I could see it maybe only fitting a select kind of frame, like the kind you'd expect from a through-hiker and survivalists body. Slim, lean, limber and efficient. Padding wize, solid. Victorinox, like many bags has the con of being hard on the lumbar. This bag practically has a pillow on the lumbar. Same as for the straps which I noticed many people gave inconsistent reviews on. But, let me just be clear here, I think a lot of people didn't realize this is a Duffel/backpack hybrid. I have seen tons of 1 star reviews for missing straps and I started laughing so hard. They didn't know it comes with the straps zipped under a flap. They posted reviews saying it didn't have straps because they don't understand the modular design. I'd imagine they haven't used many hiking bags in their life. Likewise you're getting the same reverse ingineered durability of a brand like Oakley, Swiss Army or victorinox, but for 1/10th of the price minus branding with superior organization and the added versatility of duffel-breifcase configuration for easy airline approved travel. In terms of comfort, it sits like an ergonomic office chair for immersive gaming. All in all I give it a 5 out of 5 and I don't give that lightly. Something a lot of people seem to misconceived is that military grade, military tested and developed, or otherwise "tactical bags" are somehow superior. I for one can say from experience that that is not true. I was in the military. Military "grade" anything does not equal comfort. Military is not build for comfort, it's built for standard issue and functionality. Soldiers are trained to adapt to their equipment. Not the other way around. Soldier who are trained to not only survive, but otherwise thrive in environments that are nearly entirely devoid of comfort. Let that sit in your head for a minute. Listen to me. Don't be a yuppie. Be an intellectual. Know your equipment. Know your body. Know your limits. But above all, know your bags. ... show more

  • Excellent Carry On backpack
Color: Black
I use this backpack for a carry on for many of my journeys. Typically fit 3 full days of clothes and accessories in it with room to spare. Fits in the overhead of all small regional jets perfectly.

  • My husbands new favorite bag
Color: Black
Bought this for my husband to take on a short, three day trip. He loved it. Was able to fit clothes for the whole trip and shoes, plus toiletries and not have to check a bag.

  • Weekend Warrior & Short Travel Weekend Friendly
Color: Silvery Grey
This backpack is great for short weekend travel. The packing was rather simple but I wasn’t a fan of how the straps secured across the midsection. It would’ve been more convenient to have the straps for that area a tad wider.

  • GREAT PACK!
Color: Black
Fantastic pack! The down side are the clips that attach the single shoulder strap. The first time I picked up the packed bag one broke. It was plastic wrap. I'm giving it 5 srars because the bag itself is fantastic. I would definitely recommend it.

  • Lots of room and convenient
Color: Silvery Grey
Big but extremely convenient. Same size as a carry-on rollerboard but you wear it on your back. No checked luggage on small planes. This holds everything (or more) as a regular carry-on. I can hold 4-5 days worth of clothes. Highly recommended if you can carry a back pack.

  • Fantastic Backpack
Color: Black
I thought I really liked the Ogio backpack that I had but needed something a little larger - carry on airplane size and this one is perfect. Has just enough storage pouches to keep things separated but not too many to where things get lost. Especially like the zip over the straps feature that turns it into a suitcase - calling it a duffle is a little much. It's now my Go To travel companion. ... show more

  • Best backpack ever!
Color: Black
This bag was designed with many storage areas that are quite helpful. Even when completely full, I had no problem, putting it in the overhead compartment in the airplane. I used packing tubes for the main compartment and traveled throughout Spain and France with no problem. Fantastic bag!
