This head unit is fairly basic in terms of not having rear USB ports or extensive audio adjustments other than the equalizer, balance/fade, loudness, and subwoofer cutoff. The interface is simple and there is not a lot of customization of the background. For me it was more than enough to adjust the audio quality and backgrounds to my liking. It was a very easy unit to install in a 1996 Avalon with a 2-din opening. This car has no built in amp so speaker wiring was simple as well as adding a subwoofer/amp (the unit has 2 sub outs). The car had an older aftermarket receiver in it, so it already had an aftermarket wiring harness that I connected to. I would recommend purchasing a harness specific to your car and any trim kits you may need if you buy this unit, so you do not have to cut into the existing wiring harness. The manual gives you links companies that supply this and canbus accessories you may need. I emailed tech support on the manual asking for firmware update and a Toyota startup splash screen and they were very quick, polite, and responsive to my email. It took them less than 24 hours in my case to respond with the needed files and excellent instructions on upgrading the firmware. The splash screen was almost not needed as the unit quickly boots up and connects to CarPlay, the splash screen is only up for 2-3 seconds. Sound quality/separation is really good and the physical volume button was a must since the car does not have any steering wheel controls, though the unit is capable of connecting to steering wheel controls. FM reception is excellent, even with the broken antenna on the car. You can add numerous stations to the unit's memory. The rear-view camera and dash cam are easy to install and are clear and work as intended. The included manual is excellent and covers installation needs including wiring, steering wheel controls, if applicable, and troubleshooting. The company has a Facebook presence and has QR links in the manual for videos and additional help should you need it. I feel that this unit appears to be built well and is easy to navigate and use. I do not hear any hissing or ground loop noise from the stereo. Installation is simple and well documented. It was an inexpensive upgrade to an older car, giving it more utility and listening comfort.

I purchased one of these to replace a factory headunit that lacked the functionality I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the deck. Overall build quality/fit and finish leave something to be desired. But overall, its a good pirchase. So good in fact, that I bought a second one and replaced the Kenwood touchscreen in my truck. Surprisingly, the $150 SJOY had more functions and a GUI that I found to be preferable. The full range of RCA outs were a big selling point, as I run all of my mids/highs through a 4 ch amp, and bass through a monoblock amp. With the Kenwood HU, there was only RCA out for left, right, and sub. So I had to split the L & R RCA output so I could run my 4 channel amp, however in this configuration it is essentially a 2 ch amp. I have a couple complaints about this unit. You can't upload your own boot up screen, and wallpaper pictures yourself. Instead, you have to send the pics to customer support, and they put them in some obscure image format and send them back to you. My second complaint is that I can't run Torque, or OBD Fusion from the headunit independent of my phone. In order to run Fusion, you have to connect to the deck via carplay and then open Fusion. The problem with this is CarPlay severly limits what functions you can use. For example, in my 2013 Focus, Fusion displays speed, temp, rpm, distance, and fuel economy. In text format! CarPlay blocks you from using digital gauges.
