The wireless CarPlay seems to get confused if you get in and out of your car, say running back into your house for something. You come back out and yes it connected, which is great. Until you realize that there is no audio. There is no dedicated volume buttons. So if your in car play you have to exit it tap the top of the screen, which mutes its and attempt to move a non physical volume slider on a less the perfect touch screen. You can use the included remotes. But they aren’t great. Too many extra steps for the simple task of raising and lowering volume. The “loudness” function confuses the eq. And will destroy your speakers if you’re not paying attention. Without loudness on, it lack any real substance in the sound and adjusting the eq sounds like loudness turns off and on with every screen press. Again popping your speakers. Overall, the CarPlay looks great with minimal lag. It comes with a ton of stuff, don’t bother with the steering wheel remote, only works when it is pointing to the stereo. I’m returning mine. I can get over the lack of eq function. The plan was to use it as a interface for amps and my phone. Nope, no volume buttons, for that reason alone it’s a no go.

I cannot speak to the sound quality as my speakers are small and 50yrs old, they do make noise and will be updated eventually. The carplay works but while using waze, the speedo constantly disappears and a couple of times the unit, while still producing sound would seemingly power down for no reason. This required shutting the car off to reset. The steering wheel remote works well but wish it didn't have a LARGE PURPLE IR eye. It just makes it look very out of place on a 1973 Mercedes SLC450...

Started out great. Now it randomly changes stations, input modes etc. son got it for Christmas and didn’t get it installed until April. By mid May, it was just jumping all Over the place and just looks pretty now.

I bought this for a 1986 300ZX due to its size and claimed capabilities. Install was straight forward and it initially paired straight-away to my iPhone. Troubles began when I hooked up a reverse camera (the unit is made to handle that). For some reasons, the programing cannot handle the camera connection and gets stuck in camera view. Even though the unit will randomly connect to the radio or iTunes on my phone, the screen stays stuck on the rear view. I spent hours trying to get this to work and finally gave up. The $80 price was not worth the frustration and agony of messing with it any longer. I do not recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an upgrade over their analog radio. Spend the extra bucks and get one that is designed to function as advertised.
