A Game-Changer for My 2012 Toyota Highlander! I recently installed the Kuayvan Wireless CarPlay Screen in my 2012 Toyota Highlander, and I have to say—it’s made a huge difference. Here’s what I love about it: Super Easy to Install The setup was pretty simple. It’s compatible with a lot of different vehicles, and even with my older Highlander, it worked great without needing any complicated adjustments. Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Being able to connect my phone wirelessly to CarPlay (my wife) and Android Auto (mine) is amazing. I can access all my apps, music, and maps right on the screen, and the Bluetooth connection works really well. Big, Clear Screen The 10-inch IPS touchscreen is perfect for my car. TL;DR: Excellent investment to avoid a $1,000+ install of an aftermarket head unit in my vehicle. I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee that is the only vehicle in my driveway without carplay and I had been getting spoiled with the other vehicles. I considered installing a after market head unit but just couldn't justify it as the vehicle was soon rolling over 300k miles and was hesitant to invest in an aftermarket setup specific to that vehicle. This seemed like a good bridge to the gap. Overall the screen is extremely responsive. It's just slightly less responsive than a "high end" factory unit or aftermarket stereo but is 100% responsive enough for daily use. The image is clear and nice looking and free from strange artifacts. In both straight daylight / sun it is overall a good viewing experience as it is in night mode where the auto dimming feature dims the display to an acceptable level that it is not problematic for night vision. The included cameras produce a nice overall image both front and rear. The included power cord is plenty long enough and delivers enough power. Caution - if you try to use your own power, be careful. I did initially and had many problems that may have been the result of dirty power. I can't guarantee this however they were quick to replace / return / swap the unit out and it has been 100% flawless. In addition, the power wire that comes with the unit is also the FM antenna so if you're using an aftermarket power source and cable the FM transmit function will likely work extremely poorly for you. The only two complaints I have that are both extremely minimal and do not warrant the removal of a star rating: 1. There's no rotate option for the image on the screen in the event that you hang it upside down or similar. 2. I have not had any success in finding firmware updates for it. Otherwise this thing has been flawless and has been installed now for a few weeks with zero problems. Excellent value and an excellent product overall and I would highly recommend!

**UPDATE 9-3-2024** I am sending it back. I thought I had solved the power issue, but it started cycling again. This product is next to useless if it will not stay on. I know others have had no problems, but for me and my vehicle, this will just not work. ================= Original Review: I have a 2012 Nissan Xterra that has the stock Rockford Fosgate sound system in it. It sounds wonderful. I didn’t want to deal with the headache of replacing the head unit but I wanted the convenience of Google Maps, Steaming Audio, and phone utility. I picked out the Kuayvan Wireless Portable Carplay Screen based on reviews and features. I was pretty excited. The unit came very well packaged in an upscale full graphic box(which Amazon left on my doorstep, naked for the world to see). The box contained the display, 12v cigarette adapter with usb-c cord and an extra usb-a connection on the back of it, a telescoping suction cup window/dash mount stand, an adhesive dash only stand, and a aux cord. Plus misc paperwork. I placed the device in my truck using the suction cup mount adhered to my windshield. I then took the 12v outlet adapter and connected it to my truck. The unit immediately powered on. It stayed on for about 30 seconds, then it powered off. The unit then powered on again and after about 20 seconds, powered off again. It fell into this loop continuously. I could not get it to stay on for the life of me. As someone who deals with computers, the cycle of off/on reminded me of a device just not getting enough power to keep it running. I decided I would try a few things before I pack this thing up and send it back. I tried plugging it into the back of the included adapter with a USB-c to USB-a cord. No joy, still cycled continuously. As that was the only adapter I had at the moment, I brought the screen inside and plugged it into a stable desktop usb charger. The device powered on and stayed on. I hooked my phone to it and it did what it was supposed to do. Okay, so its not getting enough power in my truck. This led me to some conclusions: 1. My Xterra is not supplying enough watts/amps through the lighter. 2. The screen is somehow needing more power than it should for using a 12v adapter. I know others have gotten this to work just fine, but I have seen the reviews where some people are having the same problem. If this device needs a certain amount of power through the cigarette outlet and some cars just don’t produce this, it should be noted that this is a requirement in order to run. 3. The power cable is bad. 4. The screen is faulty. I ordered a new cigarette adapter to see if the one it came with is just bad. I ordered a 125w usb-c(65 watt)/usb-a(60) watt charger. I attached it using a USB-a to USB-c charger. The unit still went through the cycling. Seriously? I then went out on a limb and switched the cord out to a USB-c to USB-c cord. What do you know, It stayed on without cycling. I was ecstatic. I then plugged my cell phone into the USB-a portion of the adapter and it immediately powered down. What the frak?!?!?!?! 125w? How much is this device drawing. I am not an electrical engineer, heck, I am lucky if I have dressed myself properly, but this seems ridiculous. I have a second 12v outlet in my center console. I am hoping I can put a second usb charger in there without drawing power away from the dash mounted one and causing the cycling again. I just ordered it so time will tell. There are some solutions to this if you feel like the hassle: 1. Hard-wire an inverter into your vehicle directly to the battery. $$ and difficulty. 2. Hard-wire another 12 outlet(fused of course) directly to the battery with an off switch. Not as much money but just as difficult as and inverter. 3. Get a mechanic to diagnose and see if your electrical system is up to snuff.($$$$$) 4. Send it back and get a refund. 5. Don t buy it. I went from being excited about a product to on the verge of sending it back(still might). You can see from the reviews that it works just fine for most people. I am not one of them. Highly disappointed in this product at the moment. I can't speak to sound quality or functionality at the moment until I can get it and my phone to play nice with my electrical system. If the second usb charger is also a failure and causes cycling, this thing is going back from whence it came.

I put this in a 2012 G37X using mount rod to window w/ suction cup and it is very solid/ strong and easily accessible sitting/ resting firmly on dash top. My other vehicle is a 2025 Camry XLE w/ the new amazing 12.3" infotainment screen.....it is amazing. But....I cannot stress enough how functional, bright, responsive to touch, very high quality visually .....the screen on this unit is for what it is. My son initially saw it on his dash anfter I installed it and said "yeah....I don't think I want that in the car up there". After driving the car one time .....he said he was shocked at how much he loved it. Same screen layout as new CarPlay factory oem screens, auto brightness works flawlessly on this unit. After a few weeks of use it has never failed to immediately start up, and connect to my phone using the Bluetooth option. Hasn't shut down, reset, failed whatsoever since installing it. Absolutely love screen quality, resolution, screen size, and ease of use. Amazing value for the money and feels extremely solid and well built. Maybe more importantly.....I initially needed to reach out to ask seller about a piece on the mounting arm. I could not have asked for stronger customer service. Immediate email response, great communication, and resolution of very small issue. Customer support was remarkable. Could not have asked for more. For anyone not interested in a complete stereo head replacement I would highly recommend this product and more importantly....this seller based on the customer service.

Without question, they immediately offered to send me a new one free of charge. It came right away, and I am enjoying it. If it lasts more than a few months without overheating, I'll come back to update the review. I am very happy with the product and with their customer service. I would thus recommend this product, it's a game-changer] Original review: This is a white-labeled product. That means that a factory somewhere in China makes them, a bunch of different brands slap their logo on them, flash their software to them, and sell them as their own. That's why you see the same device here from multiple sellers. I purchased this portable head unit from this listing, as well as from another listing belonging to a different seller. Both of them overheated and died. This lasted longer, making it to 3 months. These devices all overheat. For context, it is not yet even summer and I live in Canada, where it's not very hot. But if you're using these units and the sun hits it from the windshield, they will die. The screen will periodically flash, you might see the boot logo sometimes, but it'll never load. This will happen to you. The device itself is excellent. The screen is responsive, it serves as a DVR for front & rear dashcams, and the backup camera connects to your reverse light so it displays automatically. You're all here for Android Auto & CarPlay; those work very well & look good on the wide screen. I've reached out to the seller and will update if they respond.

It was great when I first received it about a year ago. It worked seamlessly, connection was great, navigation was clear, etc. Fast-forward a few months and suddenly it all went downhill. The device keeps restarting and disconnecting from my Bluetooth. No matter what I try, factory reset, reset power cycle, nothing seems to fix it.nibconsukted AI to get some insight and none of their suggestions helped. In my half hour commute to work, it typically disconnects 6 times on average. It does eventually reconnect but it's really inconvenient when you're driving in an area you're unfamiliar with and the navigation screen suddenly goes black. It's also pretty annoying to have your music suddenly stop and continue over and over when you're trying to vibe on your drive.

Love this product there is sooo many great qualities with this car play system! I ordered this one for my jeep Grand Cherokee even though I have a full screen and back up camera I just wanted something else in my car that works with my car. The display quality is amazing! I love the length of this one versus the other ones. It has adjustable brightness for day and night time or you can adjust it for however you like it. It connects to my Bluetooth within seconds of turning my car on. The gps works great even though I already have gps in my car now but your phone connects right to the CarPlay and displays on your phone and the device. The cords are really long so there are plenty of room for it because I use the cigarette lighter adapter in the trunk of my jeep. It is very easy to use! You can connect Apple Music or YouTube, you can watch videos on YouTube and another one of my apps when you do mirror image but you can’t watch Netflix or other apps with movies on it unfortunately but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me and I love that there’s a camera for the front and how it saves everything while your driving. I did a lot of research on these products before I choose the one I wanted. This is definitely great for the price! I’m very satisfied with this one and I definitely recommend it. It sticks to my dashboard but it does come with a window suction cup if you don’t want to stick it to your dash. I ordered this one and a different one for my husband and he loves his because he has an older truck. Hope this helps you choose but definitely do your research on these CarPlay displays before purchasing. ♥️

I wanted to add Apple Carplay to my older Jeep Wrangler and didn't feel like spending a lot or replacing the stock radio with a new unit. Of the similar options on Amazon, I picked this one because of the large screen size. Overall I like this thing a lot. It was super easy to install (just plug in and choose wired or bluetooth wireless connection to your car stereo. It has a dashcam and reverse cam. It supports Apple Carplay and Android (whatever they call it). It also allows screen mirroing, so you can chill and watch Netflix if you're stuck sitting in the car waiting for something. My only reasons for giving a 3-Star rating: 1- The unit is not very secure. It comes with the option to use a suction cup and mounting arm, or a mounting pad to stick it to the dash. I've tried both, and the unit wobbles quite a bit no matter which option you use. 2- Lag. Its not terrible, but it is noticeable. I've driven vehicles with Carplay already in them, and even when using wireless carplay they didn't lag as much as this one. 3- The sound quality is a little dissapointing.
