I got this for my 2012 CR-V and honestly it’s such a great upgrade. It made my car feel way more modern without spending a lot. Setup was pretty easy, I’m not super techy but I had it working in no time. The screen is a really nice size and super clear. I mainly use the wireless CarPlay and it connects fast every time I start the car. I also like the built-in dash cam, the video quality looks really good and it’s nice having that extra safety feature. The backup camera is a big help too, especially when parking in tight spots. Sound through Bluetooth is clear and no issues so far. Everything just works smoothly. If you have an older car like mine, this is definitely worth it.

Late last year (2014), I investigated replacing my wife’s car stereo (Mercedes Benz 2014 GLK250) with a stereo equipped with CarPlay. The major online and big box providers of aftermarket head units quoted me prices close to $1,000. A friend suggested I research portable CarPlay units. After a thorough investigation, I settled on this unit. (Wireless Portable Carplay Screen for Car - 10.26-inch Carplay with 4K Dash Cam, Backup Camera, Bluetooth, GPS Navigation from the Kuayvan Store). At this reasonable price, I had my doubts. Wow, was I wrong! The unit is better than the CarPlay unit that came standard in my high-end daily driver. The word “installation” should not be used. It does not come close to being anything near “installation.” Simply put, take it out of the box, attach it via the many options they provide, plug it in, and connect your phone. Done. It is awesome. Sound streams through your existing system in a variety of methods. For those cars with no Bluetooth or radio, buy a cheap speaker, velcro it to your dash, plug in the supplied aux cable, and crank your music. Works great. Everything is extremely easy to install. The quality of the build is far better than the price would lead you to believe. It arrives packed like an Apple product. The screen is sensitive and precise, and I noticed no lag time at all. I brag about this product to everybody with a car not equipped with CarPlay. (In fact, I talked my trainer into buying one with the promise that if she disagreed with me that it was drive-changing, I would buy it from her. She bought it and has become a convert. She tells me that any thoughts of getting a new car are gone. Buy this unit.

**UPDATE 9-3-2024** I am sending it back. I thought I had solved the power issue, but it started cycling again. This product is next to useless if it will not stay on. I know others have had no problems, but for me and my vehicle, this will just not work. ================= Original Review: I have a 2012 Nissan Xterra that has the stock Rockford Fosgate sound system in it. It sounds wonderful. I didn’t want to deal with the headache of replacing the head unit but I wanted the convenience of Google Maps, Steaming Audio, and phone utility. I picked out the Kuayvan Wireless Portable Carplay Screen based on reviews and features. I was pretty excited. The unit came very well packaged in an upscale full graphic box(which Amazon left on my doorstep, naked for the world to see). The box contained the display, 12v cigarette adapter with usb-c cord and an extra usb-a connection on the back of it, a telescoping suction cup window/dash mount stand, an adhesive dash only stand, and a aux cord. Plus misc paperwork. I placed the device in my truck using the suction cup mount adhered to my windshield. I then took the 12v outlet adapter and connected it to my truck. The unit immediately powered on. It stayed on for about 30 seconds, then it powered off. The unit then powered on again and after about 20 seconds, powered off again. It fell into this loop continuously. I could not get it to stay on for the life of me. As someone who deals with computers, the cycle of off/on reminded me of a device just not getting enough power to keep it running. I decided I would try a few things before I pack this thing up and send it back. I tried plugging it into the back of the included adapter with a USB-c to USB-a cord. No joy, still cycled continuously. As that was the only adapter I had at the moment, I brought the screen inside and plugged it into a stable desktop usb charger. The device powered on and stayed on. I hooked my phone to it and it did what it was supposed to do. Okay, so its not getting enough power in my truck. This led me to some conclusions: 1. My Xterra is not supplying enough watts/amps through the lighter. 2. The screen is somehow needing more power than it should for using a 12v adapter. I know others have gotten this to work just fine, but I have seen the reviews where some people are having the same problem. If this device needs a certain amount of power through the cigarette outlet and some cars just don’t produce this, it should be noted that this is a requirement in order to run. 3. The power cable is bad. 4. The screen is faulty. I ordered a new cigarette adapter to see if the one it came with is just bad. I ordered a 125w usb-c(65 watt)/usb-a(60) watt charger. I attached it using a USB-a to USB-c charger. The unit still went through the cycling. Seriously? I then went out on a limb and switched the cord out to a USB-c to USB-c cord. What do you know, It stayed on without cycling. I was ecstatic. I then plugged my cell phone into the USB-a portion of the adapter and it immediately powered down. What the frak?!?!?!?! 125w? How much is this device drawing. I am not an electrical engineer, heck, I am lucky if I have dressed myself properly, but this seems ridiculous. I have a second 12v outlet in my center console. I am hoping I can put a second usb charger in there without drawing power away from the dash mounted one and causing the cycling again. I just ordered it so time will tell. There are some solutions to this if you feel like the hassle: 1. Hard-wire an inverter into your vehicle directly to the battery. $$ and difficulty. 2. Hard-wire another 12 outlet(fused of course) directly to the battery with an off switch. Not as much money but just as difficult as and inverter. 3. Get a mechanic to diagnose and see if your electrical system is up to snuff.($$$$$) 4. Send it back and get a refund. 5. Don t buy it. I went from being excited about a product to on the verge of sending it back(still might). You can see from the reviews that it works just fine for most people. I am not one of them. Highly disappointed in this product at the moment. I can't speak to sound quality or functionality at the moment until I can get it and my phone to play nice with my electrical system. If the second usb charger is also a failure and causes cycling, this thing is going back from whence it came.

I got this wireless portable CarPlay screen for my car, and it’s been a great upgrade. The setup was easy and didn’t require any wiring. It connected to my iPhone through CarPlay instantly, and the touchscreen is very responsive with clear visuals. The built-in 4K dash cam and backup camera are both high quality, giving a sharp image day and night. I also like that it has Android Auto support, Bluetooth, and GPS all in one unit, so it works perfectly whether I’m using navigation, music, or hands-free calls. Installed into a 2013 Subaru Impreza. Yes, I had to remove panels, route wires, cut and solder wires together to extend the reverse detection wire and drill a small hole for the camera wire. I do like having a big screen, so that is a plus. Android auto works well, since that is what I use. It saved me a lot of money and time buying this as opposed to having the stock radio replaced with a modern touchscreen. Three issues, first one, sometimes the unit does not recognize that the car has been put in reverse and the backup camera does not display. I then put it in either neutral or park then back into reverse and mostly, it works after that. I can see the reverse lights are on, so I am not sure what is happening. The second issue, and I don't know how to fix this, is the backup camera view. I can set it so that it reads correctly from the screen, but then traffic moves in the opposite direction or I can set the camera so that what I see is reversed (signs, license plates) but traffic correctly moves behind the car. I guess as long as you know that there is something behind you, that is what matters. My last issue and I did not think about this until after I started using the screen, I really would like a light sensor on the unit to automatically adjust the brightness, like my cell phone does. Yes, it has the automatic dimming but only for set times, not a continuous adjustment. So far, after a few weeks of using it, it isn't too bad.

I purchased this screen for my '97 Chevy Corvette, and I couldn’t be happier! Setting it up was a breeze. Only took me about five minutes to get everything plugged in and ready to go without any complicated installation. The screen size is just right, allowing for easy navigation and music display without obstructing my view. I love that I can keep my eyes on the road instead of constantly shifting up and down. The touch response is fantastic, even better than my newer SUV! Connecting my phone is seamless; most of the time, it reconnects automatically. The FM transmitter does the job, but I have to give it an 8/10 for sound quality, which might just be a limitation of my car's older speakers. The built-in dash camera is a great added bonus, and I appreciate the thoughtful design features like the adjustable screen. If you want to upgrade your ride without swapping out the entire head unit, this device is a must-have!

Pretty disappointed. It is cool and when working, does what it says but it will not stay connected. Almost always connects when you start but no telling if it will stay connected for 1 song or 15 minutes, but once it disconnects, get ready for the rest of your ride to be very aggravating.

Love this product there is sooo many great qualities with this car play system! I ordered this one for my jeep Grand Cherokee even though I have a full screen and back up camera I just wanted something else in my car that works with my car. The display quality is amazing! I love the length of this one versus the other ones. It has adjustable brightness for day and night time or you can adjust it for however you like it. It connects to my Bluetooth within seconds of turning my car on. The gps works great even though I already have gps in my car now but your phone connects right to the CarPlay and displays on your phone and the device. The cords are really long so there are plenty of room for it because I use the cigarette lighter adapter in the trunk of my jeep. It is very easy to use! You can connect Apple Music or YouTube, you can watch videos on YouTube and another one of my apps when you do mirror image but you can’t watch Netflix or other apps with movies on it unfortunately but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me and I love that there’s a camera for the front and how it saves everything while your driving. I did a lot of research on these products before I choose the one I wanted. This is definitely great for the price! I’m very satisfied with this one and I definitely recommend it. It sticks to my dashboard but it does come with a window suction cup if you don’t want to stick it to your dash. I ordered this one and a different one for my husband and he loves his because he has an older truck. Hope this helps you choose but definitely do your research on these CarPlay displays before purchasing. ♥️
