  • It is awesome.
Style: A 1 Receiver+2 Sensors
My driveway is over 300 feet long and needed something to let me know of visitors. This thing works. Loud and clear. Very sensitive. Installation was very easy. Range is awesome. Would recommend.

  • Easy set up once you get the sound set up.
Style: A 1 Receiver+1 Sensors
Works good. Enjoy the different sounds to choose from. Took awhile to set the sound. The motion sensor is physically bigger than I expected. Been working at 10 below Fahrenheit.

  • Many Fewer False Alarms. Be Sure to Use the Correct Batteries Outdoors.
Style: A 1 Receiver+1 Sensors
This is close to perfect for an IR motion alarm, and produces many fewer false alarms than other IR alarms I have owned. This is because this alarm has a radar chip as well as IR sensing, and both the radar and IR must be triggered for the alarm to sound. I confirmed the radar function by disassembling - the unit does indeed incorporate a 5.8 GHz doppler radar chip beside the IR sensor, and I confirmed the fewer false alarms by putting the unit side-by-side with an IR sensing doorbell on the front porch. When large trucks go by it causes vibration of the glass in the door which causes the IR-only chime to sound, but not this IR+radar chime. Also, the sun occasionally shines into the sensor face and makes the IR-only chime sound, but not the IR+radar chime. That’s very nice. I have several IR alarms setup to sound when wildlife comes into our yard. When the chime sounded we’d go to the window or the camera monitor to see a raccoon or a possum or a lynx. It would see any two-legged animals too, especially at night. But the false alarm rate was so bad that we eventually just turned the system off. I tested this unit out throughly because I plan to buy several of them to replace all of the old ones. Battery life is important for these alarms, because if the battery does not last long, then it will be a maintenance nightmare and be kind of useless. Speaking of batteries, for an outdoor application the proper AA batteries are lithium cells, like the Energizer blue ones. Normal alkaline batteries don’t have the temperature range needed to keep working in Summer and Winter temperatures. I measured the current draw and predict that the lithium AA batteries will last between 6 and 8 months. Normal alkaline AA’s will last around 4 months, and less if it gets hot or cold. For you engineers, the unit draws 14 mA for 1 second when triggered, with a delay until the next trigger of about 16 seconds. It draws about 500 uA on average when it just sits untriggered. I spreadsheeted it and surprisingly the number of triggers per day is not a big factor in battery life. This is because the draw from a trigger only lasts 1 second and the unit cannot be retriggered immediately. The current capacity of the energizer AA lithium batteries is 3 Ah. One star off because of the less than robust silicone plugs and the very tiny screws used to hold the case together. One needs to use a good screwdriver to get these out to avoid stripping them - the tiny screwdriver that came with the unit is very poor. Still better than none though I guess, but need to be careful using it - apply sufficient pressure to keep from stripping out the heads. If you lose the silicone plugs you need to seal the screw holes every time with silicone sealant. The manufacturer did provide extra screws, but not extra silicone sealing plugs. Still, for the money, a great value. P.S. I saw one review where the batteries only lasted a month. This could have been one or more of several things - a bad unit that draws too much current, using alkaline batteries in the hot or cold, or just bad batteries. The AA lithium batteries can be purchased for $1.63 each in quantities of 24, or about $6.50 for 4 to power one unit. It may seem a little expensive for such an inexpensive sensor, but the shelf-life of the batteries is years and years, and if you want the alarm to work reliably outside then the lithium batteries are the way to go. ... show more

  • It Works Great & Great Price
Style: A 1 Receiver+1 Sensors
It works great, you will have to adjust it a bit to pickup motion where you really want, ours was picking up our lower palm leaves blowing in the wind so we turned the sensor pointing more away from the leaves but left it pointed just enough to pick up motion on the edge of its detection field....Perfect, doesn't pick up our swaying palm branches but still picks up motion coming into our front porch area. As said, take your time to know your coverage area and expiriment a bit so you have your detection fine tuned, then sit back and be forewarned. One thing more, the sensor takes 4-AA bateries and at some point they will need to be replaced so when you place the sensor try to place it in a handy location rather that having to get out a ladder every time becasue you placed it in a igh location. We have ours sitting upside down on a 20" high porch side table and it still works great! UPDATE 7/13/23: This device is absolutely priceless! We use it for security warning on our front porch as well as alerting us whenever we have an Amazon delivery (or any delivery) leaving a package on our porch, with this device, we always know when anything is delivered so we can take in our package before a porch pirate gets it for free. Just can't say enough good things about this device, it just works great. The only issue may be that it is difficult to change the warning sound (at least for us) but we're satisfied with the current tune, it definitely lets us know when someone is close to our porch or on it.....UPDATE 11-23-2025: We're still using this device but we changed the alert sound to 'Barking Dog'. This is definitely a keeper with this sound, you can even hear the dog barking from outside the house and it sounds very real & big! Since we have the transmitter placed in a discreet location on or covered porch, any visitor (wild or 2-leg'd) immediately triggers the transmitter and the dog barking 'receiver inside the house' really sounds off loud & clear! ... show more

  • I would pass on this.
Style: A 1 Receiver+1 Sensors
Worked really well for 2 weeks. Now it won't work at all. Tested batteries and they are fully charged. Installed new batteries anyway and still nothing. I can get the red light on the senor to light on occasion but no sound from the sensor which is a foot away. Yes I did check the volume. Not good at all. ... show more
