  • Excellent device with some limitations
Works pretty well but with limitations. Overall this is a well functioning device. Setup is simple and the picture quality is very good considering the cost of the device. The WIFI is strong and my devices (iPad, iPhone) easily connect. Though the focus is geared towards close up viewing, even at a distance of a foot or two you can see objects well enough to recognize them. Under the right set of circumstances I can see this scope working excellently. If area you are inspecting is narrow or if the distance you need to travel is under a few feet, you should have no problems making this work. But as other have mentioned, if the area is wide, like inside a wall between studs 16-24 inches apart, then the scope's usefulness begins to degrade. While the scope wire is fairly rigid, once you get beyond a few feet the camera head starts to wander. Once it starts flopping left or right or curling in on itself, you no longer have the ability to travel any further. I imagine the wire could be made stiffer, but that might cause other issues where some flexibility is needed. The other issue has to do with camera position. It definitely has an up/down/left/right aspect and if positioned correctly the image on the screen matches what you see from your work position. But as you feed more wire into the wall, the camera tends to rotate and once it does what you see on the screen no longer matches what you think is happening. For example you try guiding the wire up and to the right and the image on the screen moves left. As the camera moves farther away from the proper orientation, what you are viewing becomes more difficult to figure out. I may try using a Sharpie marker to place dashes along the wire on what is the top of the camera view. This might help me keep the camera more aligned as I feed the wire into the wall. As long as you recognize that a device of this sort with a semi-rigid wire over 10 feet long is not going to travel in a straight line in every situation, this device should work well for any reasonable application. ... show more

wow. ive had a draining issue in my house for 5 years now.i finally had enough and said im gonna rent a drain camera.those cost around 300-750$ in my area to rent due to the size of the drain.i am and hvac tech during the day.i have a few plumber buddies and one suggested i get one of these just to use to see what the pipe looks like and make sure the sewer line has not collapsed. im not gonna say its the best camera in the world but its rigid enough to go down the drain about 15ft and i was able to see pretty clearly on the app you download. you can also take pictures and video while your going down the drain.i was able to find the clog. then sent down a hand snake to clear it. which 2 plumbing companies could not do for some reason. typically in my area they wont even use a camera on any pipe smaller then 3" so this was very helpful. could have been 5 stars but i thought that the app could be alittle better but this was the best 50$ ive spent in a long time.plus i can use it to look inside engines and walls and anything else ... show more

  • Like the Wifi, Great Image
Works with the Moto G4 and the Galaxy Tab A. Using WIFI View app on the phone and DEPSTECH app on the tablet. Turn it on, connect to the wifi, start the app and go. Only irritation is the phone message that always comes up when you connect letting you know the wifi does not have internet connection, do you want to stay connected? Not the camera's problem, it works just as described. The depth of field is good, easily read a book at 5 to 8 inches , with the sharpest image being between 2 and 3 inches from the camera. The light on my copy is fully adjustable and will easily wash out image detail if it is set to bright. The battery light took a little time to figure out. It is green when charging, off when charging is complete, and red when the camera is on, even if it is charging. The camera will work while charging. Wasn't sure about the wifi when I ordered this. Just something else to cause problems. No problems with it so far, and it is nice to be able to set the phone or tablet where I can see it and maneuver the camera without disturbing your view. ... show more

  • Need shareable video? DO NOT GET THIS
Now, this is a pretty great product if all you want to do is take pictures. They come out nicely. Video, however, only shows up on the app that you have to get at any reasonable frame rate. When you try to play the video on your phone’s video viewer, it will play at maybe 3 frames a second if that. It’s more like a slideshow. It plays only marginally better through the native app, but I needed to be able to share the videos, so this was a no go. The other features worked nicely, and the camera had pretty good picture quality. I ended up returning it because the video functionality was most important to me, and it didn’t export videos that were shareable. ... show more

  • It works ok, if using it on Android need to disable moblie data first.
If using this on Android the moblie data has to be disable before it will connect to the app, also select 720p resolution if picture does not come on.I found this info from the reviews on the app. I used on my job as a Hvac service tech sometimes I need to see into tight places this helps a lot. It is a lot cheaper than buying those expensive cameras. It's nice I can record the video on my phone and play it back to the customer if I find something wrong . Battery life is ok, but it does get hot if using it for awhile. ... show more
