I've been using crimp butt connectors for years and then having to seal the ends with liquid electric tape, or before that wrapping with electrical tape. Who ever invented these deserves a BIG hug. The previous negative reviews for this particular company obviously didnt know what they were doing. The first attempt with these, using a heat gun as instructed worked perfect. I used the low setting on the gun at first and then kicked it up to high to melt the solder just for a short quick period and turn it off. Make sue to rotate the heat gun on the solder joint. Read lots of reviews on this item where buyer stated it burns while applying or solder taking too long to melt and work properly, not the case for me. What works for me is using a mini butane torch and rotating the connector while applying heat, start from the solder area and work your way towards the ends of the tubing consistently back and forth; it worked flawlessly. Apply too much heat and you'll have a "bad" experience. The blue water seal works great, and the adhesive on the tubing melts just fine to create a water proof seal. Not the best quality but still pretty good. DO NOT USE A FLAME TO SEAL THESES!! no torch, lighter, or anything the makes a flame. Theses will melt right thru the plastic. Use a heat gun and you will be fine. Pretty happy with them, will buy again.

Needed to rerun some wire for outdoor speaker set up. Instead of using wire nuts I was going to solder them together. I saw these and thought for the price point I would try it. They worked awesome!!!! I am not great at soldering and doing it outside with wires not being held perfectly would have a been hard for me to do. These were so easy. Align the wires, hit it with a heat gun and bam!!!! I am going to use these all over for my Halloween and X Mas displays. Really glad I found them ... show more

I needed a good heat gun to melt the solder inside the heat shrink tube connectors. The connections are great, however, with no issues.

Pretty decent quality for the price. Raychems from my military days are far superior. But you can’t find those these days anywhere. And if you do they are hella expensive. Make sure you have a GOOD high temp soldering iron. Something in the 8-900 degree range. They will melt fairly well at that temp. ... show more
