TL;DR: Sturdy, nicely-formed, formal shoes that I would recommend (especially at their price) I originally purchased these shoes for a play I was in. While they are a bit dense, I am light on my feet so they don't sound too stompy. However, if you aren't careful they can make you sound heavy-footed, so just keep that in mind. The lacing is different from what I am used to, but most formal shoes are laced strangely, so no points off for that. I have grown used to loosening the laces to take the shoes off and tightening them once the shoes are on. I like to form of them. Many formal wear shoes look very pointy at the toes but these have a refined round look. They have formed a slight crease but nothing terribly noticeable. I now use these shoes for all my formal events and they work nicely and go with all of my suits. They are generally comfortable for up to 2 hours but after that my feet do grow weary if I have been standing a lot (not necessarily the shoes' fault). I've gotten several compliments on them and I would recommend these to anyone looking for study but affordable formal shoes.

If you need a pair of black shoes for a wedding or other event, these will do. I don’t anticipate wearing them often, and I doubt they’d hold up for extended wear. But they’re comfortable and look good, so they’ll suit my needs for those occasional events.

If you have a boy who's feet are not quite a size 7 but he wants shoes that aren't made for 3rd graders, this is the way! This is the second pair of Bruno Marc (size 6.5) shoes I've purchased for my son. The first was a pair of Chelsea boots which look great, fit great and let him walk through middle school with something besides little kid sneakers on. This most recent pair of black dress shoes that we needed for a wedding look like shoes I would wear myself. He says they're comfortable and the insoles certainly feel padded with some sort of (memory?) foam. With a growing boy it's very hard to find shoes that fit and I've found Bruno Marc to be solid shoes that look good and fit well and are not very expensive (a big plus!!) Highly recommend in this application. I have not worn a pair for myself, so I cannot give personal experience.

I needed these in a hurry for a wedding. Amazon delivered, of course, and the price was right. They fit as expected and looked absolutely fantastic! I wore them for a full day and had no problems, no discomfort at all. Now, they go into a sealed tub in the closet until the next wedding or funeral. I can't speak to wearing them all day every day. But if you do that - you need to take better care of your feet anyway. Save up the money, go the the brick and mortar and buy the brand that rhymes with door-chime. But these are excellent for the short dress-up occasions.

I purchased the shoes for my Dad (90yo). Due his age the sole is very important. Some of the more durable shoes have soles that grip so strongly - specially with carpets - it results in tripping. He doesn’t shuffle while walking excessively but there is a mild dragging whereat a fast-gripping shoe will cause tripping. The soles on the shoes are perfect, the perfect amount of rugged treading. Very similar to a long lasting patrolman’s shoe. He really likes that feature even though he’ll never wear them out. The soles are perfect for outdoors; in good weather or bad. Very nice upper finish. The upper shoe is very durable but quite comfortable. The shoe strings are better than most I’ve seen. Styling fits his taste perfectly, and that’s becoming harder to find these days for seniors. I’m much younger but find the shoe classy. Bruno Marc got it right.
