Working as advertised! Using for hobby stuff. They shrink and melt very nicely with my dinky 300W heat gun/pen. Just gently turn and move the wire up and down and it all melts into place. The solder *does* melt last, so keeping things slowly moving is important to not just burn off the wrap before the inside stuff melts. Eventually though, the goo, the solder, and the shrink wrap all slurp into place like they're supposed to. Nice, snug connection too. Wouldn't use these in very hot environments like next to an engine block. (Hear me out: Solder melts!) Otherwise, great stuff. I'll say again: You can't just concentrate heat on the solder for this to work. Gently turning the heat gun or connection while slowly moving up and down the joint, the solder does melt. It takes longer than the rest. I'm sure if you just park your gun on the solder it'll melt the wrap before the solder gets enough heat to give. By the time it does, the rest will have molded firmly into place, too. This worked perfectly for me even with the smallest connector. It's like making Rice Krispies: You gotta use lower heat and a little time or they'll come out all hard and crispy. And if ya do it right, it's like magic! Not the best quality but still pretty good. DO NOT USE A FLAME TO SEAL THESES!! no torch, lighter, or anything the makes a flame. Theses will melt right thru the plastic. Use a heat gun and you will be fine. Pretty happy with them, will buy again.

I was skeptical at first but these worked so well, I do recommend a good heat gun to use with this. My first heat gun was apparently a slight step above just blowing on it, but I ended up getting a Wagner and it shrinks these just fine. Since I was also planning to install about 60 of these, I ended up building a small jig on a board with screws that I could lay the wire down on, slide them into a sleeve, and shrink them using the board a backdrop. I've been using crimp butt connectors for years and then having to seal the ends with liquid electric tape, or before that wrapping with electrical tape. Who ever invented these deserves a BIG hug. The previous negative reviews for this particular company obviously didnt know what they were doing. The first attempt with these, using a heat gun as instructed worked perfect. I used the low setting on the gun at first and then kicked it up to high to melt the solder just for a short quick period and turn it off. Make sue to rotate the heat gun on the solder joint. Read lots of reviews on this item where buyer stated it burns while applying or solder taking too long to melt and work properly, not the case for me. What works for me is using a mini butane torch and rotating the connector while applying heat, start from the solder area and work your way towards the ends of the tubing consistently back and forth; it worked flawlessly. Apply too much heat and you'll have a "bad" experience. The blue water seal works great, and the adhesive on the tubing melts just fine to create a water proof seal. I was able to complete my entire stereo install in less time than it took me to do 1 solder with that cheap gun. Great product.
