i’m very new to oil painting, and oil paint brushes. however, i do know that brushes made from hog’s hair are much stiffer. i’m most comfortable with watercolor, and can spot a good watercolor brush easy. these brushes on the other hand, i’m just not so sure of? i know natural hair (especially kolinsky) gets scraggly when dry, but i wasn’t sure if hog’s hair did the same? after i washed out the stiffening agent in these brushes, the bristles just kinda went everywhere…and i noticed that a lot of the individual hairs actually have split ends on them. i’m just not experienced enough with this type of brush to be able to say whether they’re good quality or not, but i wanted to share photos here regardless for others to see. i ended up just clipping the stray hairs with nail clippers, and i’m thinking about dipping them in some walnut oil and letting them dry so that maybe they can reform a bit. ... show more

Less quality I expected from the brand. The brissels often unaline from the brush going inal directions. The brush length is nice.
