These are the best brushes made. The end. I have been painting for 25 years.

It didn't come with the best point on it but it's a great brush none the less.

I didn't believe all of the hype I saw when people talked about these brushes, but now that I have one they really do make model painting so much better. My details look better and I can do a lot more with this than my cheaper synthetic brushes

Split hairs, but sort of works
Size: #0
Style: Round
I got a size 0 series 7 hoping it would help my mini painting in small details. I will say the bristles seem ok for holding paint, and have decent resistance... but the hairs keep splitting. If I paint pulling along most sides it's just one or two hairs that poke out every few strokes, but if I turn
it and paint from the wrong side, several splay out, up to maybe a quarter of the bristles split in this case and don't return to their original point till I wet and re draw/twirl it along some paper. My test was painting a mini and after around five hours, the extra bristle or two poking out was pretty regular, wile the more major split happend only around three or four times. Still, it was quite problematic when it happened, making it actually worse than my cheap kids $5 pack of brushes (actual hair though) on consistency. Sure that one won't keep a point as long normally, but it never just splits suddenly from a single wrong sided stroke. As it is, I still managed to paint the mini ok... but not as well as I was hoping for a nearly $20 brush. Will be looking into replacing it if I can, since lemons are a reality of, well, everything, so here's to hoping the replacement meats up with the hype of these.

Best Brush I Have Ever Owned, So Far
Size: #0
Style: Round
Right out of the package the brush was an extremely fine point, with exception of one stray hair. As this hair was clearly bent and irreparable, I decided to cull it with a sharp hobby knife. I am using this brush for fine detail work and light paint application, which means I am not loading it with
much acrylic paint, only the tip dipped in water thinned paint. I am attempting to preserve the brush, so I am babying it. I can't say how it would hold up against more rough use. I have only used it to apply paint in my space marine's eyes. It made placing the tiny white dot far more simple than it has been with other brushes/tools. The bristles tend to behave differently than other brushes I have owned, I would assume this is due to them being made of a finer material. The pigment and water flows directly to the tip, and the bristles don't tend to hold onto the paint, once you want it to leave the brush. This means you aren't struggling against the brush as you paint. This is an excellent brush, and for my purposes/light use case, was well worth the cost.

Not sure why people are saying these are bad brushes. Every other site, other than Amazon, holds these in high esteem. After buying the #3, and now the #0, I can say that, for inking, these are fantastic brushes. They hold they're point very well, allow ink to flow easily, and are easy to clean. Albe
it, I haven't tried any other brand with ink... I say I've made a good choice! Update: I've been using these for inking, watercolor, and now gouache. They are awesome at everything I throw at them. I have the size 0, and 3, now I'm looking at dropping the $50 for the Size 6. Update #2: I ended up going with the size 7.. I mean... if it's the queen's favorite, why not try? Once again the quality blew me away. It has just as fine a point as my size 3, which has the point if my size 0. It even comes in it's own magnetically closing box.

The series 7 has been the number one brush for watercolor artists and miniature painters alike. The brush point stays sharp and snaps back after each stroke.

I have 3 of these series 7 brushes from Amazon and this is the first problem one I just got. It is size 0. It seems to split in the middle as soon as you apply pressure. Will be asking for a replacement. I am very careful with my brushes as I use them daily. I would expect a $15 brush to last 6 month
s. ***Update 9/14, now that I have been using the replacement brush that was sent, I have had 0 issues with it splitting. The replacement came in just two days and therefore I am changing my review from 1-3 stars.

I probably have about 10 W&N brushes. Used to love them but the quality has gone way downhill to the point of being garbage brushes now. I just pulled a new brush out it's tube and painted with it. Cleaned it several times times while painting. Just went back to it and it blown out like a feather dus
ter and it looks like it's already split. That's been the case of several of the last brushes I've bought from W&N. I'm officially done with W&N now. Too many better options out there. Shame how far they've slipped.

I know I'm knit picking but when you pay what you pay for these brushes you expect good quality. But upon opening this brush the brush part is not brought to a point like other brushes I've bought, it's kind of flaid and some of the bristles are bent down from being put in its packaging. I'm probably
have to cut those off and see how the brush works. The handle is straight and fuller seems in good shape. It's just the bristles that worry me.

You definitely Italy get what you pay for with these brushes

As a miniatures painter you cant really go wrong with W&N series 7 brushes. You really do get what you pay for on the entire series. Just make sure you wash them immediately after use and they will keep their shape. I have been using the same 4 brushes since last christmas and have painted over 70 mi
nis with them and they still look brand new. I couldn't be happier.
