Before buying watercolor painting, I did a lot of research. I was looking for the best quality for professionals and was looking for a set of watercolors, tubes. I looked for well known brands and looked at all the ones that were available in Amazon. I read all the reviews that had one and two stars and some complained about some grains and others in the paints. When I found this, the only complaint was that they were too small. The tubes are small but they are not my complaint. I have no problem with that because I use them for small formats so this was perfect for me. The quality and brightness of the colors is great. As someone just starting out in watercolor I found this set to be just the right number of colors and was very pleased with the price point. I use 100 percent cotton watercolor paper and am pleased with the results. They are easy to mix and a little goes a long way. Nice set for the money. It’s a good way to try out pigments. The only bad thing is the pressure in the tubes pushed out a little too much paint. Nothing that can be done about that.

I’m new to watercolors and this was my first time using watercolor from a tube. I expected it to be like acrylic paint where you just squeeze out a little as needed, but I was wrong. Be careful when opening, as it comes rushing out quickly! Initially, I poured out way too much and had difficulty getting lighter colors when I needed them, since I had so much paint everywhere! After a little research, this is what I did: I filled an empty pallet with a small amount of each color. I waited for the to dry completely, and now I can simply add a little water and use them as I want. Much easier! I ordered the 20 color set, but I probably would’ve been fine with the 12, as I prefer to mix colors instead of using the colors “as is”. Overall, a great purchase. ... show more
