ordered 2, one would not latch because of a manufacturing error. I let them know and they quickly sent me 2 more. They work great, just spend some time setting them up before drilling the first hole. I had similar plastic latches on my camper, but a lite breeze would shut the doors. I started off placing these in the same place before I realized they needed to be in different locations and angles that the original latches. Oh yeah, in my installation the latch rests against the body of the trailer when unlatched. I was concerned that this would wear a spot in the paint over time. I have added small rubber stick on pads between the "T" latch and it's base to keep it from closing against the body. ... show more

This door holder looks to be sturdier than the typical factory installed plastic ones but it's rather clumsy and awkward to utilize. The leg is so sturdy and rigid, it doesn't slide into the jam smoothly, so when you're trying to unhook the door you have to sometimes try and reach behind the door with both your hands to get it to unhook. The base plate is 2 piece, plastic (black) and then the center channel which is metal. It's not what I expected, but it works, almost too well. ... show more

We like the fact that they were metal because our plastic one kept breaking. It didn't come with the screws. And there was a spring in it that was so forceful we disconnected it because we were afraid of it pulling on the RV outer wall too hard. So that made it easier to work

Easy to install. Sturdy. Holds up without movement in any wind. Really like the spring loaded arm to keep it from bouncing all over and scratching the door while in transit.

It's good quality, and seams like it would work great, but didn't work on our particular door. We have an 1985 trailer and the outside is corrugated. It didn't line up with well.
