When I ordered this, I looked around online to see if there were any reviews for it, and most weren't great. I wondered if I had made a mistake and ordered something I was going to end up hating. Once it arrived, I carefully read the instructions and put it to work... IT IS AWESOME!!! The product description, "Normal motor noise (not for light sleepers)" had me worried, but that turns out to not be a problem at all! It is NOT noisy - I have a floor fan that I was using prior to this that produces WAY more sound for the same strength of breeze. This one, even on level 3, is quite pleasant - it doesn't drown out the sound of anything else. Very, very tolerable amount of noise. Yay! The fan itself works great - it's strong, and I can feel it from across the 14-foot room. The cooling feature is FANTASTIC. The air is undeniably cooler when the water is running through it, and the ice packs work GREAT to provide added cooling. I've had a portable air conditioner before that cost a fortune, was extremely loud, and the exhaust tube constantly fell out of the window, and generated so much heat that it created more problems than it solved. This evaporator is 1000 times better!!!! It is SO much cheaper and substantially easier to use and not bothersomely noisy. Had I bought this, I would absolutely be keeping it - it's working out GREAT for keeping me cool on HOT Summer nights!! TOTAL WIN!!! The ONLY complaint I have about it is the window to see the water level. It's ridiculously hard to see if there is enough water in the unit. I have to get down on the floor with a flashlight, and even then, it's barely visible. Other than that? LOVE this. The six ice packs are more than enough to keep a frozen rotation going. Since they're filled with GEL instead of just water, they LAST for a while. The water lasts, too. Being able to fill it from the top is really convenient. I run it a LOT and have only refilled the unit twice. I barely notice the slightest sound of a trinkle of water - that part is not noisy at all, either. The water pump itself is SILENT. The 65° swing is really neat - it's the vents inside the fan that move silently and produce a soothing oscillation across the room. The whole unit is compact, but mighty - without any frustrating tubes or window required. On top of all that, it has a remote! AND it came with two extra batteries! This whole fan is a total WIN and I am SOOOOO glad I gave it a try!! I live in the DESERT of Southern California and it has been over 100F degrees every day this week and THIS fan has SAVED my sanity lol THANK YOU!!!

Setting up this portable unit takes no effort at all since it plugs right into a standard outlet without needing windows or wall brackets. In actual daily testing, it works wonderfully as a powerful tower fan, but you should lower your expectations regarding true room cooling. Filling the large 1.2 gallon water tank and dropping in the frozen ice packs lowers the airflow temperature by a few degrees. That chilled breeze feels refreshing when sitting directly in front of the unit on a hot afternoon. However, it cannot replace a standard window air conditioner because it raises humidity levels rather than removing moisture. The 65 degree oscillation sweeps air across a small bedroom nicely, and the three speed options give you good control over the breeze. You can also set the shutoff timer anywhere from 1 to 12 hours, which prevents it from running unnecessarily all night long. The motor generates a steady hum that might disturb light sleepers, though it functions well as relaxing white noise for heavy sleepers. Compared to a traditional box fan, this unit gives you far better air distribution and a noticeably cooler draft when packed with frozen gel packs. It also consumes much less electricity than a compressor based portable air conditioner. The plastic housing feels sturdy and the compact footprint easily tucks into tight office corners or bedroom nooks. You receive dependable air circulation and mild spot cooling at a very reasonable price point. It is a solid choice for dry climates if you need a versatile fan with an extra refreshing boost.

This is not your mom's evaporative cooler. First off the unit is fairly small its lightweight and doesn't take up so much space. You can see from the 4th photo the outlet is just on the left side of the openings but that doesn't stop it. The outward fins I accidently popped off but that was easily able to bend back. That is manual. The inside fins that are vertical are mechanically controlled and can swing left and right. For the most part the exterior is about the same. Now I have to say this one came with 6 ice packs which is great i've found 3 at a time work easily. Be sure to lock in the bottom pump not sure why its not just attached but it does give you room to slide in and out when its removed. When you turn the unit on you have a few options - Fan Speed - Timer 1, 2, 4, 8 and such and you can combine them so you can scroll through and do 1 & 2 for 3 or 4 & 8 for 12H - Swing - Cool Most of the features are straight forward but I want to highlight the cooling function. Olden day evaporators shoot or spew a bit of water as its running and you feel it and the wind causes the water to evaporate which then cools down the surface though it might get a bit wet. This one is nearing the quality of an Air conditioner. If you add some ice and include the icepacks the turn on the cool function the water is funneled (Pumped) to the top of the unit, you can open the lid and see. Pro Tip I also add Ice here too. Once it flows up, it lets gravity help it down and it cools the air coming through. No excess water is spewed through and you can actually feel a decent drop in temperature from the cool wind. If you're looking to save money on electricity and want something that can operate and bring a bit of heat relief this is the one!

I have been using it in the garage lately. It does help a little, but I think the garage is just too big for it to handle. Especially in Texas heat! Typically, if I need to work in the garage, I turn it on early in the morning before the garage heats up. Since it comes with six ice packs, I usually use two at a time. By the time it needs swapping, I will have ice packs ready to go. It cools the garage enough to make it tolerable. Plus, I supplement it with another fan. Overall, I think this may work in a much smaller room with better insulation than a garage. But, I've seen better ones with higher CFMs.

I got the Flowbreeze Evaporative Cooler for hot days when my air conditioner isn't quite enough. On the few days every year, when the outdoors temperature reaches over 100° fahrenheit, it's enough to keep a room comfortable. It comes with a remote and 2 extra batteries, a manual, 4 caster wheels, a 1.2 gallon water tank, 6 gel-filled ice packs and a washable air filter. It stands a little less than 2ft high, with casters installed, and the base is roughly 9.5" x 11". One of the six ice packs had leaked water when I opened the water tank, as it was filled with water instead of gel for some reason. It has 3 fan speeds and 3 timer settings. The product details mention a 12h setting, but I only see 2h, 4h and 6h settings. The swing mode moves the vertical inside louvers sideways, but you have to manually open the horizontal louvers on the front to let out air. You can set the horizontal louvers to blow at different angles to blow where you want air. It also has an air mode setting for normal and sleep settings. Air blows at a consistent rate in the normal setting, but it varies in the sleep setting to emulate wind coming through a window. Then it has the cool function, which circulates cold water to cool the air. It has a removable tank in the bottom rear of the unit, along with a tank on the top. The rear tank has a water pump to pump water throughout the system. The water pump can be removed to remove the rear tank, but it's easier to just pour water into the top tank. Water poured into the top tank will drain through a hole into the bottom tank, where it will then be pumped back up to the top tank and presumably through coils to cool the air. The ice packs work in both tanks together. Of course it's not as effective as an air conditioner, but it's simple and effective for cooling down the air a few degrees in a single room. You just have to remember to stick the ice packs back in a freezer when you're done, but I think any smaller ice packs will work and so you could buy more ice packs to have a plentiful supply.

This portable air cooler is a great option for a small room or personal space. It’s compact, easy to move around, and doesn’t take up much floor space. I like that it has a 1.2-gallon water tank and comes with ice packs, which make it easy to get a cooler airflow when needed. The 12-hour timer is also convenient, especially for using it in the bedroom at night. It runs fairly quietly and doesn’t create a lot of disruption while sleeping or relaxing. Just keep in mind that this is an evaporative air cooler rather than a traditional air conditioner, so it’s better for personal cooling than trying to cool an entire room dramatically. Overall, it’s a convenient little unit for targeted cooling, especially in smaller spaces.

This Evaporative Cooling Fan from the FLOWBREEZE Store is approximately 9 ½ inches x 11 inches. It stands right around 24-25 inches tall depending on whether or not you used the wheels. It is light weight at only around 10 pounds, before adding water. I put on the wheels, and on solid surfaces, it rolls fine. Carpeting not so much. Upon opening the box, I found a remote control, 2 extra batteries, and the manual; all protected by Styrofoam. When I took the unit out of the box, I noticed it has an air filter, but a screwdriver is needed to remove it. The top tank only had 2 gel-filled ice packs in it. Upon reading the manual the other 4 ice packs and the 4 caster wheels were located in the bottom water tank behind the machine. So I placed all 6 ice packs in my freezer, in anticipation of checking this machine out. After waiting about 4 hours, I placed 3 of the ice packs and additional water to fill the bottom water tank, keeping the other 3 in my freezer for later use. When I thought I had it full enough I looked at the water capacity window to see if it was full. It was just fine, but I must note to the manufactures that the window is at the bottom of machine and hard to read. I used a flashlight and then I could see the level, barely. This would have been fine if I had it on a table but my unit was on the floor. That being out of the way, I turned it on. The manual told me exactly what needed to be done. So I touched the power button, then put up to speed 3, timer set for 4-hours, pushed the cool button and finally the swing button. I noticed the fan was fairly quiet even set to the highest setting of 3 and there was a very faint sound of water trickling. Which, by the way, are two sounds I don’t mind hearing. It wasn’t loud enough to drown out other sounds though. I left the room, shutting the door behind me, and waited. I went back in after two hours to check the water level. I didn’t notice much difference in the water level and the room was only a couple degrees cooler than started. It was still putting out cool air, but only if I was right in front of it. I went back in after four hours and I noticed that the room was not as cool as before. I think when the ice packs melted it just blew air about the same temperature as outside the unit. I may be wrong on that though, maybe if I used more ice packs and more ice and less water it might work better. I might try that sometime later. But for now I think this will come in handy for my small office to keep me comfortable, possibly next to or under my desk. But as far as cooling the entire room, I am skeptical. My office is only about 80 square feet, so not a large area. If you are hoping to get an air conditioner type coolness, then you will be disappointed. I would realistically call this a large personal fan. You can only feel the cooling effect when in front of the unit. But it is nowhere as noisy as a traditional box fan. So in my opinion I would say it does blow air much like a standard fan, yet the air is a tiny bit cooler. I must admit I was hoping for better results. For now I will just keep it in my office and use like a fan.

This little evaporative cooler is basically a tower fan that gives you cooler air when you add water and the ice packs, and it works great for everyday use. The size is perfect for a bedroom or small room, and the 65° side‑to‑side swing helps move the air around instead of just blowing in one spot. The timer is super handy too, you can set it for the night or for a few hours while you chill or work. The water tank is bigger than it looks, and having six ice packs is great. You can swap them out and keep the air feeling fresh and cool. Just remember it’s not an AC, so the cooling is light, but still really nice on warm days. Noise is just normal fan noise.
