  • Solidly built E-Bike, perfect for around town daily travel.
Color: Black
I use this bike to get to and from work about 2 miles away. My trek consists of going up a fairly steep hill, then about a mile along a 5 lane highway in a suburban setting. It is strong and sturdy for its size. Very responsive shock absorbers above both wheels. The motor is not strong enough to get me up the hill without pedal-assist, but if I pedal moderately and keep an even speed, it does quite well for my 230 lb frame. ONE NOTE: The box says it can carry 330 lbs; It can only carry up to 265 lbs. I think I read that in the user manual itself. So be safe! Don't want anyone too heavy having performance or safety issues. It has tough little tires, an awesome rear basket that's about big enough to fit one brown paper grocery store sack about 75% full, and a bright headlight. Once you get a few rides in and adapt to it, it is very easy to operate, and fun to ride. There is a handle above the battery pack which allows for "easy" carrying. I live up a steep set of APT stairs, and can manage to get this in and out without too much struggle. It's less than 50 lbs. It's no mountain or off-road bike, but perfect for around town or campus daily commutes. For the price here on Amazon, I highly recommend this bike. ... show more

  • Garbage
Color: Black
The battery is absolute garbage. I bought this bike and a voltcycle for the same price. The voltcycle bike is great. Battery lasted all day for the kids and still had about half battery. This one needed recharging 3 times for the same use. I believe we put in about 15 miles altogether of flat no wind riding. ... show more

  • Not Great, Not Terrible
Color: Black
I have very mixed feelings on this bike. When it works, it really works, but when it doesn’t, it’s awful. My first problem was the tires were not sent properly filled so the bike was sluggish and had barely any range. If it weren’t for the workshop I work at having the right hose, it still would be. All my public air stations didn’t fit the air intake. But when they were filled, it was like a whole different bike. Fast, flexible range, and climb ability were actually about as close to advertised, although the claimed range and the website range for the W3 are still way overstated. You’ll get about 10-11 miles on pure motor, which is alright enough, a little more if you run it conservatively. But if you pedal… The pedals on this bike are flimsy and liable to cut your shins. I had to walk the bike on several occasions after the battery died and the pedals hurt if you hit your leg on them. But that no longer is a problem because the pedals fall off if you so much as look at them. It took 1 accidental hit at low speed to completely break one pedal, and the other stripped its bolt and just fell off. I thankfully got free replacements courtesy of my employer who are just swell guys and out them in for free but not everyone work with such great people. Alongside this, after slipping on a little mud and falling, the battery screen has become mostly useless. All the bars are always lit with only a little fade in the middle two bars. Not quite sure how that happened. The basket is mostly useless as well. You can fit maybe a small bag and a small water bottle but bring your own way to secure it because this bike doesn’t have any. Finally the biggest problem, the brakes. After three or so months of use, the brakes have become borderline useless. I have to drag my feet to stop this thing, a big problem when it can easily hit 20 mph. This is a major safety hazard that needs to be looked at and improved. If you buy this bike, keep close attention on the brakes and compensate accordingly because they are liable to stop working well. Despite this, overall, the bike meets my needs. It can get me places fast, albeit uncomfortably, and it’s easy to use and set up. The twist throttle hurts my hand after a long ride but I manage. Keep the tires inflated, replace the pedals if needed, and keep an eye on the brakes and the Windhorse W3 will serve you adequately. If not, prepare for some frustration. ... show more

  • Read the whole thing, it has vital info
Color: Black
I am only giving this 4 stars simply because I had actually gotten a defective bike. But wait, there's more to the story!! Yes, the bike was defective, but I got ahold of the support team as soon as I could, a word to the wise if you need to get ahold of their support go through Amazon's messaging system, and I have to tell you the truth.... Their support people worked with me the whole way. Trying to do some on the spot troubleshooting we decided that it likely was a defective battery pack, so they sent me a new one and I installed it. When that didn't happen, we thought it could be the system controller, and so I was asked to get some video of the problem occurring so they could evaluate it. And it turned out to be a defective system controller, so now I'm returning it to them (yes, I did keep the original packaging) and we are going to then reach whatever amenable ends we had decided on. Now, the support team went well and above All that they had to do, so 6 stars to them. But here are the only issues I had with the bike, and I did make these selfsame suggestions to them as corrections. First, the bike was tested on flat ground with a driver who weighed less than 175 lbs, I weigh a bit more. Like, 100 lbs more (do the math) so the bike burned more of the battery juice going up any hills, it would have been nice to know this beforehand. And then the painful one, I'm an old biker and I should have known this, but the rear wheel is directly under your tookus, so any rider should lean forward when starting up on this thing, I went spout over tea kettle when I began to go up a hill, it was suggested to them to change their production model and move the rear wheel back about 6", that would increase stability. Overall, not a bad bike, once I remembered to lean forward it was actually fun to ride, if only it had run longer... The folk over at their offices are pleasant, and deliver great customer service going well beyond what was expected. Now would I buy this bike again? Yes, but not for me, I'm too fat for it. Would I recommend it to others? Yeah, probably, because it IS a nice little bike. I hope this might offer some insight and help to anyone else who might be looking for an urban bike. ... show more
