  • Awesome work bench vice
Style: 6-Inch Mechanics Vise
I purchased eight of these for my service department and each one of my benches has one of these and they are very good to work with the only thing I would suggest if you buy this device or any other device is to have a jaw protectors so that when you use it you protect your jaws

  • Nice vice, anvil portion is surprisingly soft, overall a little dissapointed.
Style: 6-Inch Mechanics Vise
Other vise I have used the flat anvil portion is super hard, and you can use it to straighten out a nail or pound something flat--with little marking and no damage to the anvil surface. Every thing I've placed on the anvil so far has put deep dents into the surface, and I haven't stuck it hard at all. So the vise portion is good, but the anvil feels like tool steel in the way it dents and scars so easily--disappointing as I use the anvil on my vises a lot , and it frustrates me to see that anything I hit on it leaves a mark that dents the surface and makes it less and less flat each time I use it. Maybe mine is deffective or wasn't heat treated or something? All I know is I've never seen a vise anvil surface dent that easily. The vise itself is good, though if you clamp something in the jaws tightly on one side, you see the other sides gap shrink noticably as you tighten--I expected this vise to hold things without flexing that much. I want even pressure when I clamp down the jaw tight, not a jaw that will flex visibly as you tighten it down. It's better than most vises I've seen, but I'm a little dissapointed in that I wasn't trying to buy an above average vise, I was trying to buy a REALLY nice vise. ... show more

  • wilton 6" vise model 21500 ???? Lifetme Waranty ?
I received this vise from CPO Outlets an Amazon outside vendor, via FedEx in just 3 days after ordering it ! So that is EXCELLENT SERVICE. This Chinese made vise feels very heavy and is pretty sturdy looking but there are no identifying model numbers or any other identification on the vise itself besides the name WILTON. You can measure of course the jaw opening etc. etc, and verify that you got indeed a 6" vise, but did you get the model you ordered, you wonder ! The BOX indicates model #21500 and says Lifetime Waranty, but there is no identifying paperwork in the box itself except for a piece of paper with the template on it for the bolt hole locations for this vise and other similar vises. Like you really need a template for locating the bolt hole locations for a vise ? Since this template is so it seems, also applicable to other vise models somewhere on this paper it mentions 2 yr. warranty, but for what ? And which model ? Are you also supposed to keep the box for all the time you own this vise in case you DO need some kind of service later on ? Hopefully this will never be necessary ! On top of that, since the outside of this box's lifetime warranty insignia also mentions "limited" which means the warranty is only to the original purchaser, you have to keep your original receipt forever. Even in this case, what prevents some unscrupulous service center say 15 years from now, saying that the vise you brought in, is not the vise that the box and the purchase receipt you managed to save for all those years, belongs to, since there are no identifying model numbers on the vise itself ! These are just some observations I had to mention because even WILTON's own web site is not very helpful and clear on this. For the hefty prices all these vises sell for I think WILTON should be clearer and less vague with their warranty and other info. and at least have the model numbers for it's products clearly stamped on them ! I further have to mention that the vise was well packed, and generally, heavily greased up all over, to prevent rust, and the box it came in is "fairly" sturdy but was somewhat damaged during the shipment of it's heavy contents. I was NOT double wrapped but there was no damage to the vise itself. ... show more

  • Most will pass this vice on to their kids. Seriously, it will last forever for general shop use.
Style: 6-Inch Mechanics Vise
Solid vice. The only downside, which is understood based on leverage is that the feet are not symmetrical. Very minor inconvenience. Fully enclosed vice gear, interchangeable jaws etc, this vice will do everything you need. Holds up well to a torch, solvents, impacts and keeps it smooth operation. Dont cheap out on a crap vice and spend more $ later. Buy a Wilton and be done.. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Style: 6-Inch Mechanics Vise
This is a real nice vice. I don’t think I’ll ever need another. Last vice broke like a hollow Easter bunny., I see it for sale for $80. Don’t buy a cheap vice.
