Description

Wilton's Multi-Purpose Bench Vise is ideal for light tradesman, utility, MRO, and general purpose use. This vise features a 360-degree rotating head to clamp material at any angle, 30-degree indexing increments for quick set up, replaceable pipe jaws, and a V-jaw to easily hold round objects vertically. The body and movable jaw are 30,000 PSI gray cast iron, and the base is 60,000 PSI ductile iron, providing durability through a wide range of applications.

The number of handy features in this little vise was what sold me on it: - Can hold both round and flat objects - Rotatable head means it is easy to do so (e.g. holding a pipe straight up and down). - Anvil - Scale that shows the thickness of what you are clamping. Note that the mounting pattern is trapezoidal, not rectangular. It comes with a printed pattern to help you drill the holes. See Wilton’s product catalog for a comparison chart of their product line up. It isn’t obvious from the names alone (tradesman, machinist, mechanics, shop, etc...) where things stand. This is an excellent quality vice. It offers full rotation both at the base and on the clamp. I’ve had two other lower cost vices and they both failed to meet my expectations. This face was a bit more expensive but well worth the money. Device arrived three days early and was well packaged with no damage whatsoever. I’m very happy with it and would recommend it to anybody that needs a smaller vice with an excellent wide clamping range and versatility to rotate in all directions. ... show more

I finally broke down and replaced my old worn out Wilton Scout 4" that was handed down to my father then later to me. This new one has been working great for my home tinkering projects.

    • Not quality they used to be
Cheap and came needing work. Ruler guide on the vise was falling off from poor packaging/shipping. The swivel lock down would not allow the vise rotate. Had to remove the inner lock bar and file the teeth down to get it to work better then before but not very smooth.

    • Wilton bench vises are expensive but seem to be very durable
I bought this as a gift for my son. It's very heavy and durable. I'll never understand the high prices for these, but if it lasts his lifetime then it's worth it.
