  • Great Antenna!
I’m impressed by this antenna. I’m a new ham and built some simple DIY antennas, but they don’t have the commercial quality that I desired for my base station setup. This antenna appears to be well made, with a protective fiberglass tube around the elements. Assembly is a breeze and it’s surprisingly light weight. So far the performance and signal strength has been stellar. I’m mainly using it for VHF purposes and I have been able to clearly transmit and receive out to 25 miles in wooded & slightly hilly middle Georgia. The included mounting hardware is convenient, leaving less hardware for you to go out and buy. I get 1.2 and under SWR, which is stellar. I wish I would have bought this from the start instead of wasting money on components for flimsy DIY antennas. ... show more

  • Great Starter Antenna
This is a great starter antenna for GMRS and HAM radio within stated frequencies as this is a dual band antenna. So far I've had excellent performance and range. This antenna was easy to install on my facia with a short antenna mount. Makes for a neat and unintrusive package that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. ... show more

  • Solid 2m and 70cm dual band base antenna
Very pleased with this base antenna. Did not want a behemoth antenna for my roof, rather a more subtle antenna that works well. It looks great with a modest 3 foot mast and am getting outstanding SWR in both 70cm and 2m bands. Also getting very respectable results with GMRS frequencies (462-467) 1.5 to 1.7 SWR. Just a note that MURS frequencies (151 -154) will see higher SWR's (3.5 - 6.5 on my radio). Not a negative as this antenna is not tuned for MURS. Just wanted to point that out for the curious. Overall an excellent base antenna. ... show more

  • Good enough for in-Town repeaters!
Perfectly good antenna. It is pretty low profile and not hard to assemble. I wasn’t looking for anything too crazy, just wanted a clear shot to the neighboring repeaters on 2m and 70cm. It works fine for that. I wanted it to blend in with the roof a bit more so I painted on some black FlexSeal and it looks nice. The radials were solid, I wasn’t crazy about the connection they had to the hub. It seemed like some wind vibration could loosen the nuts, so i put a tiny dab of silicone just to fix them in place a little bit better without making it permanent. I also wrapped some ProxyCast coax wrap around the PL259 connection and then put it in the air. I have run 50 watts through this antenna, but I hardly need more than 5. ... show more

  • Tram
Some of the middle frequencies on 2 meter throws high SWR.

  • Good SWRs on UHF and VHF
Pretty happy with it since installing a good coaxle cable. Put it in the attic pretty high. Seems to have good range even when I connect it to a 5w HT. SWRs are good on all bands, UHF, VHF, and GMRS.
