We bought this WILDROAD Hitch Cargo Carrier to haul a Pride Maxima HD scooter (about 280 lbs) up to Niagara Falls. The listing says it can handle 500 lbs and it actually held up longer than I initially expected it to. To its credit, it got the scooter there and back and served its purpose for quite a while. After almost a year of use, the platform started sagging and a bolt holding the ramp eventually failed. While it is not perfect and it sucks that it finally gave out, I am very impressed with the customer service. The company actually held true to their warranty and offered to send me a new one even after all that time. The assembly was straightforward but we did have a nut fly off early on. I ended up grabbing a better replacement from ACE to feel more secure. The carrier does bounce a bit while driving even with the stabilizer but it managed the weight of the scooter for many months. The included ratchet straps feel a bit cheap so we preferred using our own for peace of mind. Bottom line is that this carrier lasted longer than I thought it would. If you are hauling a heavy mobility scooter you might notice some slanting over time but the company stands behind their product. It is a solid choice for suitcases or camping gear and the excellent warranty support makes it a much better value.

It's a little heavy to put on your vehicle by yourself. With two people it's not a problem. Very stable on the hitch. Carries my 80lb electric wheelchair with ease. My only complaint is I wish the retaining pins for the ramp were a hair longer.

We bought this cargo carrier with ramp for a paraplegic man who is almost 80 years old. He needs it to safely carry his mobility scooter. The item arrived and we put it together with help. Right away we saw two big problems: First, the part that slides into the truck's receiver hitch was off by about 1/8 of an inch. It did not line up straight. To make it fit we would have had to re-drill the hole. That would create an oblong (oval) hole that could make the carrier weaker and less safe. This carrier is not heavy duty but very thin material. Second, the little attachment on the end of the basket that holds the ramp up while driving hit the back tailgate of our truck. It would not work at all. We watched many videos of this carrier and similar ones made in China. They seem to fit okay on the back of cars because cars slant forward at the rear. On a truck it just does not fit right see the photos We contacted the manufacturer for help. They suggested the paraplegic man should re-drill the hole himself. We also asked about shipping it back. It looked like it would cost $150 to $200 to send it back. When we asked for a shipping box they told us to go find one ourselves because sending one from China would cost them too much. I tried to be fair. I offered to keep the carrier and pay the manufacturer $50 so they did not have to pay big shipping costs. They said no and wanted $100 instead. At that point I decided it was better to just return it to Amazon for a full refund and buy something that actually works for a truck. This carrier may work fine for some people with the right vehicle, but it did not work for us. We are returning it and will look for one made better for trucks.

Heavy duty hitch trailer with ramp. Easy assembly and installation. Locking pin keeps in place. Multi use and can put a lawnmower or anything else that rolls off the ramp. Moderate weight, which is a good thing because I feels durable. Amazing fit on my Bronco and didn’t even have to move the license place. Solid purchase for extra storage.

This is a solid product for the most part. My only complaint is that both of parts that locks the ramp part up or down have come off about 6 months in. Now I use my own lock in its place and is still functioning. You just don’t want to be out and about and those things pop off, because there’s nothing to hold the ramp part up in place otherwise. It was somewhat difficult to install, you definitely need 2 people. It serves its function for me, transporting my daughter’s wheelchair.

The 2” hitch carriers is kind of heavy weight over 70lb, in other words can say it used thick metal and heavy duty. Great for carrying extra luggage or heavy equipment without using interior space also keep interior clean. Comes with 4 tightening strips to securely hold up stuffs. #update: carrier rack paint start peeling and rusted after a week of use. In addition the rack weights holding seems not as described, both sides edge slightly bended.

Hitch cargo carrier that's good for carrying large items for camping trips or long travels for added space. The cargo carrier required minimal assembly and instructions were simple to follow. It also comes with four ratchet straps. We used this for our camping trip and packed our generator and didn't have any issues with weight or it wiggling. We like that we can fold the carrier up to minimize space without having to remove the whole thing. We have also used it to carry our mini 50 cc ATV. The ramp is a plus to wheel off heavy items instead of having to pick it up.
