My truck isn’t 4x4 and my wife doesn’t like taking her jeep since it’s small in storage. Decided to get this. My dog had the whole trunk to himself. It was heavy and felt durable. We connected it to the jeep with ease. I was able to do it by my self but would recommend 2 people. It was as wide as the jeep. I didn’t use the ramp due to it not being needed but can see future use for it like taking our daughter pit bike . It came with 4 straps to tie down our camping stuff. When we arrive to our camp site after unloaded it we took it off and it was not damage thru the bumpy terrain. Very well built

I bought this for my wife je ep to haul luggage, bicycles, ride-on kids toys, and more. This thing is super heavy duty. The gate can be let down into a ramp for bikes and such, or it can be locked into the 90° position to give you more security hauling larger items. It was very easy to put together, but it was heavy. It's plenty big enough for bikes or ride on kids toys. It also flips up towards the back glass if you're not hauling anything. This one is way more solid than a previous one I've had. It doesn't have any flex at all when you step into it. Now I just need to buy a locking hitch pin and I'm good to go.

UPDATE: 8 months later the latch holding the ramp up broke on the highway causing the ramp to fall and us to manually tie it up with what we had in the care. This thing is pure junk. We bought this WILDROAD Hitch Cargo Carrier to haul a Pride Maxima HD scooter (about 280 lbs) up to Niagara Falls. The listing said it could handle 500 lbs, so we figured we were well within the limits. Spoiler alert: that was optimistic. To its credit, it did get the scooter there and back. So, yes, it served its purpose. But not even a month later, the platform is sagging like a sad pancake. It’s not quite bent in half, but it’s definitely not straight anymore either. We assembled it properly (triple-checked), but still had a nut fly off twice, specifically the one that holds the ramp upright. Thankfully, this happened while testing it around the neighborhood and not mid-highway at 70 mph. Ended up grabbing a better replacement nut from ACE, which should not be something I have to do on a brand new product. And no, before you ask, we didn’t ride the scooter up the ramp. We pushed it. Gently. Respectfully. Still, the whole thing bounces like crazy when driving, even with the included stabilizer. The ratchet straps? Eh. The straps themselves are fine, but the ratcheting mechanism feels cheap, like something you'd get from a discount bin. We didn’t trust them and used our own straps instead. Bottom line: If you’re thinking of using this for a heavy-duty mobility scooter, don’t. This thing might say “500 lbs capacity,” but in the real world, 280 lbs is already testing its limits. If you're hauling a couple of suitcases or a camping cooler? It'll probably do fine. But for anything heavier? Look elsewhere, or prepare to baby it.

This is a solid product for the most part. My only complaint is that both of parts that locks the ramp part up or down have come off about 6 months in. Now I use my own lock in its place and is still functioning. You just don’t want to be out and about and those things pop off, because there’s nothing to hold the ramp part up in place otherwise. It was somewhat difficult to install, you definitely need 2 people. It serves its function for me, transporting my daughter’s wheelchair.

The 2” hitch carriers is kind of heavy weight over 70lb, in other words can say it used thick metal and heavy duty. Great for carrying extra luggage or heavy equipment without using interior space also keep interior clean. Comes with 4 tightening strips to securely hold up stuffs. #update: carrier rack paint start peeling and rusted after a week of use. In addition the rack weights holding seems not as described, both sides edge slightly bended.

I give this thing zero stars. Used it one time hauling a 120pound generator for 65 miles and it bent it down 30 degrees in the first 20 miles. Definitely not a true rating of 500lbs. Rating is more like 50 pounds or i received a defective unit. Pro - - It looks great, powder coat is nice. - It looks sturdy - comes with all the hardware you need, even extra hitch u bolts so it doesn’t wobble and sway. I’d say this thing would crumble in half without it. Cons - Weight rating is more like 50 pounds, NOT 500 - instructions just so so. If your handy it’s easy to assemble - Main support tube is soft metal and bends easily
