I bought this for my wife for christmas and she still uses it for everything. We make sure to take very good care of it by handwashing it and drying it immediately so it doesnt pit. The knife is just starting to lose its edge but that is not an issue if you buy a roller sharpener at 12 degrees as the description of the item so nicely includes. The amount of folds that this knife has certainly shows for how well this blade retainsan edge. Of course this knife is a very good looking knife as well, I personally bought blue as it is my wife's favorite color. I loved the selection. If you take care of this knife then it will take care of you!

We prepare nearly 100% of the meals we eat, which means plenty of vegetable and general food processing, day in and day out. I'll admit it, I have a thing for knives and have tested quite a few, but this knife stands out as an excellent knife and value. The handle is a very well constructed G10 that looks polished and very refined. The seams with the full tang of the blade and pommel are all slick and well-executed; the grip is fantastic. But the blade... yes, it is beautiful, the damascus patterning in this blade is very even and stylized, but in a way that I really enjoy - I reach for it most of the time. The weight is substantial, but somehow the balance is *just* right, and I always feel in control. Of course it comes paper-cutting sharp from the factory, and the overall thin grind makes for an exceptionally slicey knife. Sharpens very easily with basic stones, no diamonds needed. I haven't had an stain issues, despite every day use for weeks, but I do wash/dry/store knives in the kitchen with each use. The packaging of this knife is not particularly gifty, but as a general chef's primary knife it performs and pleases.

This knife would make an excellent gift for the chef in your life. It has a gorgeous Damascus aesthetic and gorgeous handle. It is wonderfully sharp, and it can be sharpened with a sharpening stone. It is sturdy and can cut through meats, cheeses, and more! It will be a staple in your kitchen, and you will use it daily!
