I bought these to plant in a bare and partially shady patch with really poor soil quality. The first round of seeds didn't take, but it might have been too early in the season. I tried a second time, and they finally sprouted. However, the plants stayed tiny and took forever to grow. It's been a couple months and some are still super small. Here's what worked: I planted seeds in pots and transplanted the seedlings into the ground when they were big enough. Also watered religiously. It took a little while, but they've grown quite large and are full of blossoms now. I did have to fertilize, but again, the soil I planted them in was awful. Hummingbirds haven't seemed interested, but there are lots of butterflies and other pollinators that gather daily. Got a good mix of flowers in my packet (the four o'clocks, nasturtiums and zinnias are especially pretty right now). ... show more

The best thing I've planted all year. I planted this behind some hibiscus plants and when it first started growing my wife says why did you plant a bunch of weeds behind the hibiscus.. six or eight weeks later she says I can't believe how pretty all that turned out those weeds are awesome LOL she loves it lots of varieties of flowers great package ... show more

so far i have wild geranium, morning glory , cosmos and nasturtiums. still waiting to see what else pops up . germinated quickly one month later i have the first flowers. the morning glory is racing up the pole. i have zinnia , nasturtium and hollyhock and 4 o’clock flowers and forgetmenots i did have to move the planter out of the reach of deer munching and i have some leaf miners chomping on the nasturtiums. i’m trying a pest spray . ... show more

I started growing them a couple of weeks ago and they are hardy and easy to grow. There are a lot of seeds in the small packet. The down side, since I didn't know practically all the seeds would germinate, I poured ~1 tablespoon of seeds and spread it in a pot first (it's still snowing here in Minnesota at that time) to grow the roots. I think most, if not all, grew! Now they are crowded in the pots/bin. I transferred the first pot outside but it wasn't as hardy out there. The soil is a bit different though, so that could be a factor. But the indoor pots are growing like crazy! ... show more

First the white little flowers bloomed and now we have these beautiful colorful flowers blooming. There’s more that will bloom throughout the summer but so far they are gorgeous and these pictures are not doing justice to the actual flowers. Definitely recommend

I thought that maybe I could get a 50% germination rate. So I seeded them a bit thick. OOPS! I think they all germinated! I had such a mass of flowers I had to transplant dozens of them to give them room to grow. And the beauty of them all! Amazing! And the abundance of butterflies the flowers brought to the garden. We planted these at the end of April and we are starting to get some blooms now. we thought we got just a bunch of Lilli pads at first. Hopefully we see more blooms and they're perennials
