Good value when buying on black friday week. Wiim sub looks nice and it is pretty heavy. I Bought it because I needed something to fill in low frequencies in my living room in conjunction with in wall speakers on each side of my tv. I’m all ready using wiim amp so wanted to get the sub for more flexibility reasons. Room fit calibration does wonders in my open concept living room with in wall speakers. My main concern was synchronizing this sub with main speakers and it blends in seamlessly. I even had it connected in my main system composed of over $6,000 equipment and it did not disappoint. Wiim sub can be crossed at pretty high frequencies with main speakers of course depending on distance between the sub and main speakers. This is a musical sub great for desktop set up as well. Wiim sub competes with sonos or similar line setup costing more. It is not for dedicated homeroom theaters that would rattle doors. I have my sub on the side to make it fit in my limited space. I Placed some footers underneath that I all ready had. It looks nicer than directly on the floor and it actually decouples the sub from the floor. ... show more

For the right system this is a big winner

When it comes to smaller less powerful subwoofers like the Wiim Sub Pro the results depend on what you are trying to achieve. In a small room like a bedroom system, this subwoofer will be a great partner to bookshelf speakers. In my case I am using this along with Kef LS50 speakers all run by a Wiim Amp Ultra as a desktop system. I tried this with my larder Wharfedale Linton's and it did not produce enough low frequency to add anything too that system. However, with my kefs, careful positioning, using Wiim's room fit software to flatten room nodes, this sub makes this system absolutely rock! I have this in a corner and while I do not get the 25hz claimed, I do get a flat response to 30hz. The scale of the music has grown and the weight of kick drums, bass guitar, leading edge of the strings have all skyrocketed this setup to the point it is probably better than the Linton's which are very good. The sound quality for music is very good. It does have some mid bass punch and sounds dynamic not sluggish and muddy. The build quality is much better than anything for the price, it is not overly larger, looks beautiful and in my case matches the piano black finish on the Kefs. I have not used it for home theater and again this would depend on the room and speakers plus the expectations you have. ... show more

The subwoofer is hooked up wirelessly to a Wiim Pro Plus streamer. It seems to be working adequately, and the sound is tight, and punchy, and not bloated. The problem I’m having with it is that status light won’t illuminate when the unit is playing. I’ve been in contact with Wiim support for a couple days now. So far they can’t figure out the problem. Still a good subwoofer for the $370 I paid during Prime Days. *** Revised review ***Wiim has been an exceptional company. Their customer service is heads above any other company I know of. Their constant firmware updates make their products continually improve over time. In regards to my problem with my status light not functioning properly , they worked with me in an attempt to resolve the problem over the course of three days. When that failed to solve the problem they advised me that they were shipping me a new unit. Within another three days I had a new subwoofer delivered to me. They didn’t request that the original unit be shipped back so I now have two Wiim Sub Pro’s. I couldn’t have hoped for a better experience with a manufacturer. Absolutely exceptional service. My rating has changed from four stars to five. It would be ten stars if that was an option. ... show more

A must have for Wiim systems

Surprisingly deep and precise bass, perfect for music!

I've had this sub for five months now, it replaced a Monoprice 8" active sub in my living room system. I'm using a WiiM Ultra streamer/preamp as the front end for the system which feeds a Chord Mojo 2 DAC via toslink into two Fosi V3 monoblocks (one for each stereo channel) with a pair of floor-standing Polk Monitor 70 II's as the main speakers. The Polks start rolling off around 50Hz, so I have the crossover set at 55Hz. If you're already a WiiM user and not looking for earth-shaking bass for movies, I can recommend this little wonder with no reservations despite its small-ish 8" driver. This sub has no problem filling our spacious living room with deep, controlled bass at high volumes and after running Room Fit it's perfectly integrated with the mains. I'm using a subwoofer coax cable connected to the WiiM Ultra's sub out to control the unit, I haven't tried using the WiFi connectivity which apparently has some limitations. The cabinet is quite heavy and doesn't vibrate even at high volumes, and the piano-style glossy finish is attractive and probably very durable. WiiM Keeps Winning

As with all the WiiM products I've used, it's easy to set up and performs quite well. This sub is a great addition to my set up with original Klipsch Heresy speakers and Harmon Kardon Twin 430 integrated fed by a WiiM Pro running into a Geshelli J2S DAC with Sparkos OpAmps. Wireless does not work, sound quality is poor

The whole marketing pitch behind this is that it can wirelessly connect to WiiM amps. The wireless connectivity is worthless - even during setup it recommended not using it. I had it set up in a small room, no obstacles between the devices, less than 10 feet apart, and it constantly drops. Like every 10 seconds, and when it kicks back in it’s off time for a few seconds. Completely unusable wireless connection. The sound is not great, but I would have been okay with it if it was wireless. It’s boomy, has poor precision/timing, and the EQ setting don’t help much. Since it needs to be wired there is no reason to buy this sub given the sound quality. Go get an SVS or something. I’m considering returning my other WiiM devices, as this sub has made me lose all trust in the company. ... show more
