Features

  • WIFI 4 USB NANO DONGLE FOR LIBRE COMPUTER SBCs: Small plug and play 2.4GHz WiFi for single board computers with up to 150Mbps speed. Measuring 19mm x 14mm x 5mm, keep neighboring USB ports unobstructed. Low power design stays within the 500mA power budget of USB 2.0 ports.
  • PLUG AND PLAY FOR LINUX: Supports all current Linux LTS versions and Windows. No installation required for most Linux kernels, just insert into any USB 2.0 or higher port and connect to any 2.4GHz wireless network. Compatible with personal computers with USB 2.0 and 3.0 Type A ports. Built on the Linux mac80211 and cfg80211 frameworks, supports in-kernel wireless management.
  • LATEST WPA3 SECURITY STANDARDS COMPLIANT: Supports the latest WPA3 SAE security standards. Simultaneous Authentication of Equals provides additional protection from password brute forcing and dictionary attacks. WPA2 / WPA are no longer secure and passwords can be defeated in minutes. 802.1X network access control, and SoftMAC for future extensibility.
  • ADVANCED FUNCTIONALITY: AP mode, monitoring/sniffing mode, and 40MHz channels for up to 150Mbps (18.75MB/s) rates via integrated 1T1R 2dB antenna with 18dB transmit power. Configurable MAC to programmable protocol handling.
  • PREREQUISITES: 150Mbps (18.75MB/s) PHY rates require AP advertising 40MHz channels. 20MHz channels are limited to 72.2Mbps (9.025MB/s). Actual transmit efficiency is a function of dongle temperature and signal to noise ratio. Peak performance around 75% of PHY rate in low noise environment at 10M. Linux support requires CONFIG_MT7601U. WiFi 4 operates on the 2.4GHz band (2.400GHz-2.4835GHz) using the IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards.
  • CHECK FOR POWER SUPPLY ISSUES: Make sure that the device is getting 5V or higher during load. If power to your SBC is insufficient, this device may become underpowered and drop off the USB bus or periodically disconnect and/or exhibit low throughput. If you are unsure, please test this device with the GenBasic 5V 3A power supply.

  • Cheap, quick, easy, and effective solution for 10-year-old Windows laptop with obsolete WiFi card
Color: Black
True plug-and-play for 10-year old Dell Latitude E5540 laptop running Windows 10. Seamless install, gave me access to two different WPA3 networks that the builtin Intel AC1760 (?) card did not. 47 Mbps down and 26 Mbps up speed test through an asymmetric 1 Gbps (down) ISP connection. Range was good but did not explicitly test it. Longevity? Durability? Who knows. It got me out of a jam on a trip, arrived next day, and worked off the bat. ... show more

  • Plug-and-play on Ubuntu (even on an old Macbook Air) and on Armbian
Color: Black
I bought this for my 3d printer whose built-in wifi just died one day. It's running Klipper (OpenNeptu4ne on an Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus) and the Armbian operating system detected it beautifully, even running on a usb hub. I've also tested it on a desktop and an old Macbook Air, both running Ubuntu 25.10 and it played very nicely. ... show more

  • Plug and Play worked fine with Linux Mint 22.2
Color: Black
Worked fine with Linux Mint 22.2 on a 2012 HP Pavilon desktop. Plug and Play. No problem identifying the usb wifi device. No need for any drivers. It just showed up in the wifi choices. Clicked on it and it worked. (much better than the stock 2012 built in wifi card). I averaged 42 MPS download and 50 MPS upload across 4 speed test sites on 2 occasions. It was ok, not super speedy, but no super slow. It is tiny. And it did get warm, but i did not notice it getting excessively hot as some other reviews have noted. That being said, I went with another usb adapter whose speed was four times faster. Search around for linux wifi usb and you will find my other review and the one I kept. ... show more
