  • Almost Perfect.
Okay. The only negative is that I can't find an on-off switch. Apparently, when the video signal ends, it will go to a blue screen for a few seconds then black. But is it powered off or just sleeping? The good parts is that it is razor-sharp (trust me, any fuzzing is the camera I used) and almost too bright. My brightness is set at 40 and contrast at 80 as it sits on my desk. The size is perfect, to sit beneath my larger monitor and display odd things. And it's a true 1920 X 1280 display. The colors are clear, the contrast is good, and the stand works for me. The angle is adjustable. To make everything more visible, I went to display settings and set the scale to 200%. It's readable now at the distance shown in the second photo, pretty much arm's length. 73CM if you prefer, or 29". Screen dimensions are 8-3/4X5-7/8" (body 9-1/4X6-1/2", 7/16" thick), and the VESA mounts are blind so you can't put them too deep. It's a beautiful little monitor. I think I'll add another one to my next order. Edit: I just received my second one, it's just as nice as the first one. These are excellent as secondary monitors or for very limited space. One last thing: It's a little heavier than you would expect. It feels like the frame is aluminum, I took it in both hands and tried to twist it, it barely flexed. I like these little monitors! ... show more

  • PC Statistic Monitoring and Secondary Monitor.
I have enough room under my 34 inch monitor to fit this 10.5 inch monitor since the main monitor is on an arm. It works well for a stats monitor using aida64 but also as a secondary screen. I thought there would be a downgrade in quality from the big monitor but was pleasantly surprised that there was not. The black levels on the little screen are actually better at 1500-1 than the main monitors 1000-1 and for me its noticeable. I also set hot keys so I can easily switch between stats screen and secondary screen mode. This is a nice screen. ... show more

  • Okay if You Like it Small
What I like: * It came with a stand * It's compact * It works What I don't like: * The size gives it very little utility. If you have a use for a very small screen, then, okay. Just keep in mind that measurements are diagonal. This is very small for any monitor. Think of a phablet or a Kindle. * The stand tends to slip on smooth surfaces, making it less useful. * The screen resolution and brightness are merely okay If you want a small ancillary monitor, this could work for you, but for just a little more, you can get a more typical laptop size monitor as your secondary from a brand you know and trust. After getting this one and realizing the usefulness of portable monitors for work laptop, I bought a 13 inch that is much bigger and much more useful. ... show more

  • Mixed bag of good and not so good features. Glossy screen
Worth noting: on the manual, there's two stickers on it that says "Updated 16:9 Aspect Ratio" and "M1050C V2". However, the monitor I received is definitely the 1920x1280 (3:2 aspect ratio) that I expected. Also worth noting: this display is small - 10.5 inches across. Most laptops are about 14" to 15". If you're getting a second portable monitor for your laptop, consider a 14" or 15" display instead. It works, I find it's a bit awkward with such a small screen. I'm intrigued by this display because of its small size, VESA mount, IPS display and unusual 3:2 aspect ratio. It seems like it might be ideal if you're going to DIY a smart photo frame (4x6 photos are 3:2 aspect ratio). So I put it through a few tests. 1. Screen. It's not a matte screen. Something to be aware of. 2. Construction: seems a bit thicker than necessary, but feels quite solid. Thickness might have something to do with the VESA (75mm) mounting holes, which goes in fairly deep into the case. 3. Power: using a USB C power meter, it shows that power draw is about 5V @ 0.5A (so about 2.5W) at 50% brightness with little fluctuation. At 100% brightness, it shows 5V @ 0.65A (about 3W). I'm using the USB A output on my power strip to power the monitor. I don't have audio playback on, so that might draw more power. The specs say "5V 2A" so you might want to plan for that as maximum power draw. 4. USB C input - I connected this to my Dell Latitude's USB C port. Works like a charm. No issues whatsoever. 5. HDMI input - when connected to my Raspberry Pi 4 with latest Lite (non GUI) image, it's messed up. Display is squished in the middle. It probably has to do with non-standard resolution (1920x1280). I managed to get this to work by editing config.txt - more on this later. I also needed to get a micro HDMI to mini HDMI cable to use this with a Raspberry Pi 4. Other than that, I didn't quite care for the stand - it feels flimsy. I'm using a Lamicall phone / tablet stand instead. It'll work in a pinch but wish it is better. Full size to mini HDMI cable, USB C to C, USB A to C (for power), a small USB power brick (100-240V input, 5V 2A output), the stand, a cleaning cloth, and a manual is included. No carrying case, unfortunately. Display is crisp (it is a digital display, so I didn't expect any less). Playing movies look perfectly fine. The bezel covers up just a bit of the top edge (maybe 1 to 2 pixels worth on the top right side of the screen - the left side is fine). I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't display a test image. This is what I had modify in /boot/config.txt do to get Raspberry Pi to work: Change: display_auto_detect=0 Add: hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080 hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=87 hdmi_cvt=1920 1280 60 hdmi_timing=1920 0 30 30 30 1280 0 6 6 6 0 0 0 60 0 147456000 2 The startup seems a little strange but once it booted up, everything looks fine. Overall, I'm fairly happy with the screen for my intended use. ... show more
