  • Great screen, terrible sound.
Style: 17"FHD 240Hz w/ Tripod, Carry bag, Cover Pattern: Monitor
I haven't had my display long, so I don't know how well it will do in the long term, but here's a brief review from a couple days use. The display itself is great. Are there better displays? Probably, but I doubt they're portable. The OSD is a bit hard to navigate because the side buttons give little feedback and require more force than should be necessary to push, so you have to use two hands to navigate it. There's tons of options, including displaying the FPS and even putting an artificial cross hair in the middle of the screen. Some options are grayed out, but I assume they're only available with certain connections or display modes. No complaints regarding the battery. Heck, I bought this not even knowing it had one. If you use a higher power wall adapter then it has no problem going all day. If you use the one out of the box, certain setting combinations can cause the display to use a little more power than the adapter can provide, causing it to slowly drain over a period of many hours. One power related complaint I do have, however, is no PD passthrough. So no matter how powerful of a charger I connect to the display, it won't pass the extra power through to my phone, tablet, ROG Ally etc. That's a big misstep that could have helped reduce cable clutter a bit. The tripod is sturdy and easy to use and attach to the display. The only small down side is they don't include any kind of driver to attach it with. A basic L shaped Phillips driver would have sufficed. Also, given the screens capability to detect it's orientation and auto rotate the display, the inability to rotate the screen when on its tripod is frustrating and shows a bit of shortsightedness on ASUS's part. The biggest issue with this display is the audio quality. The speakers sound like absolute trash. The sound isn't quite loud enough. It's weak on the low and mids with a generally flat sound that peaks a little on the highs. It's good enough if you're in a quiet hotel room or something, but unusable with any notable amount of background noise. My ROG Ally sounds better. My Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra sounds better. Even my S22 sounds better. They're that bad. On the plus side, there is a headphone jack. But there are no audio settings of any kind, so if you have the option, just connect your headphones to whatever your source is. There's not much to say about appearance. It looks like a giant tablet. I can fit the display and accessories, my ROG Ally and accessories, and my Tab S8 Ultra and accessories in my backpack quite comfortably, plus microphone (Røde PodMic) a low profile keyboard, mouse and Xbox controller, basically giving me the ultimate portable gaming/do everything setup without going overkill and swapping the Ally for a high end gaming laptop. TL;DR I highly recommend it, just use your own speakers or headphones. ... show more

  • Not worth full price unless it's for gaming. Has software issues
Style: 15.6" FHD 144Hz White w/ Tripod, Sleeve Pattern: Monitor
I picked this monitor mostly for the stand and tripod mount. Cheaper options on amazon have better specs, but no tripod. 15.6 Inches is a bit small for gaming, so make sure you know what you want. Issues: Some type c devices connect to the screen only when charging. The display can charge devices through DP type c input (check if your device has it). It has trouble charging a itself and a type c device at the same time. So to get it to work you have to follow a process. Steps: 1) Plug in power for monitor 2) plug in device 3) Unplug power from monitor 4) switch input to DP Type C (your device should be charging now) 5) plug power back into monitor if you want it to charge It works, but is tedious. Maybe my monitor is defective. To my knowledge, the tripod cannot go into portrait mode -- it can cause damage to the mounting system if you do. I haven't found different image profiles, so you have change each setting manually every time. The monitor auto powers off when it doesn't detect a signal, but has a standby mode that probably drains more battery. The battery drains pretty quickly when charging another device. It has a noticeable amount of flex, but I'm not too concerned because I have a protective backpack for transporting it. The sleeve that it comes with it okay -- I would not personally trust it from protecting the screen on it's own, but it's nice for organizing accessories and additional padding. Gamer aesthetic is okay, but unnecessary. If you can get over these flaws and the price, it's not bad. ... show more

  • Excellent mostly
Style: 15.6" FHD 144Hz White w/ Tripod, Sleeve Pattern: Monitor
Material quality feels top notch and it includes a substantial amount of accessories such as the cables, carrying case, optional stand, and adapter. The screen can be finicky to work with certain devices, such as a steam deck, and a remote would have nice to have to streamline the process of connection. The buttons for the screen are not marked as far as I can tell so it will be trial and error to set up, keep that in mind if you are a plug and play type of person. I would have preferred the connections to be on the rear or bottom, they are on the left side of the monitor and are very noticeable when plugged in. The speakers on the monitor are extremely subpar and do not have any semblance of loudness, or bass. I would recommend a decent headset or an external speaker to pair with this. The display itself is not bad but when compared to more expensive panels it feels a bit outdated, I would compare it to the older TN panels that came factory in budget Gaming laptops of the 2018-2021 era. Battery life is acceptable roughly 3-5 hours is the average life span I got on battery. Used mostly plugged in though. I purchased this to pair with my ROG Ally so I will update at a later time to report on my experience. This device is not for everyone and I would suggest a traditional monitor over this if you don’t intend to game on the go (hotels, airplanes, work, dorms etc..) ... show more
