I was surprised how much heat this curtain can keep out. Metallic outer surface reflects the sunlight. It provides complete blackout and helps cool down the room. Comes with more than enough velcro pieces to secure it around the window.

My only complaint is that it needs more velcro. I got the smallest amount in fabric and it covered 2 and a half windows, so if you need more windows, order bigger. I bought this fabric for my mobile home because (by poor design and how they come) most thermostats are by the front door/windows and the heat from windows had my AC kick on constantly. So if you have a mobile home, this is a GREAT BUY!

The "curtain" came folded and it is very difficult to "unfold" to the actual size you order. Once I did that, I was able to figure out that one side is black, the other side is silver and either I cut it, or fold it to the size of my window. Neither solution is elegant. The plastic is very thin. It is not an attractive way to black out an area. I was going to use it in my livingroom to black out the sun side of my back door. It's pretty ugly. Is it functional? Yes. Do you want your guests to see it? OMG! I tried it for a few days, then went to Lowes and found a shower curtain that would fit my window. Wish I had done that first. Best thing about it is that it is cheap... both the price and the product! Buyer Beware.

This is a good quality blackout curtains, I put them on our bedroom floor-to-ceiling window, it covers light pretty well and does not fall off. I will keep using them to see how it goes.

We got these to use as a temporary solution for our RV. We are planning a trip that will have us in our RV for at least 3 weeks. We do have curtains, but they are very sheer. We needed something to help keep the sun and heat out. These blackout “curtains” do in fact block out 100% of the light. I’m not sure about the heat though. We ordered another black out curtain similar to this one from a different brand. Both of the curtains felt and looked in identical. But the other curtain came with a measuring tape, a cutter and a marker- which made it much easier to measure and cut the curtain to size. I wish that she set came with those extras too. If you’re only worried about blocking the sunlight, and do not care about how it looks, then you will be happy with these. They do look pretty tacky once they are up. Definitely not something you’d want to purchase if you’re worried about it matching your decor.

These work well at blocking the sun/light from entering the room. One side is black (facing inside) and the side that faces outside is silver. It comes with enough velcro to install them. Installation is very easy, just measure and cut. Please note the description says "curtain" but these are definitely not curtain. It is a very thin sheet of plastic type material. Lastly it's not the most elegant looking window cover so it's best used for temporary applications in areas where you don't mind this.
