This replaces a thick cotton pad that constantly moved and wrinkled into uncomfortable folds. This loosely spun fabric stays in place and feels very soft, as you lie down. It is not intended to make a hard bed soft; but as a protective mattress pad, it works well during its first months of service. It provides a feeling of warmth with its softness. This is an extremely comfortable mattress pad. It arrives in a compressed condition but -5 minutes after opening if puffs up. I was very surprised at the quality for the price. I expected a thin waterproof mattress pad. It’s plush and well made. I bought these pads as a gift. Now I’m going to buy more for my own beds. It’s soft and not noisy like other mattress pads. I am Impressed with the comfort mainly. I needed something quickly on a bare mattress that is scratchy, uneven and uncomfortable even through a bottom sheet. This has done the trick. The media could not be loaded. I'm am returning these pads because of the noise. Giving it 3 stars because it did fit properly, the padding was nice. I DID NOT sleep on it. I know it wouldn't be worth my time sleeping on it because of the noise.
