I purchased this for my 6 pound maltipoo, who is very gentle with her toys. She very much enjoys chasing the little ball around for indoor playtime when the weather is not nice enough to go outside. So far, I have already gone through one set of batteries, so either it does suck up batteries, or I have terrible batteries. It is a little flimsy - I would not say it is the best made toy.     • Works great - battery install is weird.
They item is very good. The instructions have a bit to be desired. Not super clear in battery install. The shell of the hamster comes off the chasey to chg batteries. Not the bottom of hamster...although there is a screw and opening at the bottom🤨

If you have a long haired pet who you will be giving this toy to: BEWARE. Do NOT take the hamster out of the ball and let it run on the floor. I did and the wheel went over my cat’s tail, got stuck, and wouldn’t come off. I had to shave the fur off to get it off. The ball itself is great to fill with catnip for my cat to play with. The hamster itself, in addition to being a hazard, was poorly made and did not move in the ball very well. Two stars only for the pink ball. Zero stars for the hamster. ... show more

Bought for my own amusement after watching my in-laws’ cat play with one of these. The hamster does seem rather cheaply made, but keep in mind this isn’t a cuddly stuffed animal. It’s a rodent in a ball that rolls around on the floor. As a useless toy which requires batteries is it a good value for your money? Probably not, BUT if you finding it amusing (or your cat does and you find THAT amusing) can you really put a price on that? ... show more

My dog was always super obsessed with my brothers hamster whenever we went to his house so we decided to get her this and it was SO worth it! She played with this thing (sometimes so gently as it if were real) for hours and would never get bored of it. Awesome! After a while of course the plastic cracked from her hitting it into walls, but I think that would be expected. ... show more

    • Better than a real pet!
My 4 year old Asked Santa for a pet hamster for Christmas. Santa brought this, and she is absolutely smitten over it! It's her favorite gift and we don't have to feed or clean up after it (haha).
