This blanket has been a wonderful purchase for our home. I am the wife and I had to make a surprise, but greatly needed purchase for my husband who goes to dialysis three times a week, and since becoming a dialysis patient, one of the side effects is that he is always much colder than everyone & anyone else in the house. I needed something that could keep him warm without turning the heat up and making everyone else uncomfortable. This blanket does exactly that. It is soft, thick, very sturdy, and it gets surprisingly warm. My husband wraps himself up in it almost every day and often ends up falling asleep because it’s so comfortable. The size is also perfect for him. He is 66 inches tall and the blanket is long enough for him to wrap his whole body with extra length past his feet, which he really likes. Another reason we chose this one was the color. Because of dialysis, he wanted something darker so that stains wouldn’t show easily. He is very happy with it and says you really can’t see any spots on it. Overall, this blanket has been a great find. It keeps him warm, it’s comfortable, and it works perfectly for what we needed.

I must say I have changed my mind about this blanket. After using it for a few days, I find that it is definitely warmer than I originally thought. It is a pretty light grey color on the velour side. The blanket is not as thick as it looks here. It is very soft though. The heating coils do not run the full width of the blanket. Eash side has a few inches without coils. That is fine S it really does not need to be edge to edge. More than enough heat space. I love that you set it to be on from 1 hour to 12 hours. Heat settings from L to H (or 1 to 10) giving a wide range of comfort levels. The cord is nice and long and the remote is made to get able to sit on a night stand. I really like this blanket as it is just what I needed for my post surgery sleeping in a recliner.

Loved this blanket but sadly got to use less than a month before one side threw an error code “F” and stopped responding. One controller only shows F and is nonresponsive. I am returning this expensive blanket. Pros: soft, comfortable, heats fast, great size for my queen size bed, gorgeous color, loved the temp controls and timer. 3/1/25: Update: a new controller was express shipped to me after intervention from Seller SEDONA HOUSE & WESTINGHOUSE and resolved the problem! I was set to return before contact from seller whose customer service was one of the best engagements I’ve experienced in any industry in a long time. The company was always empathetic, action-oriented, professional, polite, and diligent in following up with me. They led me through troubleshooting to quickly identify the issue, set delivery expectations and provided a tracking number for my convenience. They followed the issue from beginning to end. Will check back in 30 days to upgrade stars if everything is still working perfectly.

My husband and I have had a number of electric blankets over the years. Our problem has been that after about 5 years, they die. So we were yet again in the market. The company from whom we purchased our previous blankets seemed to have died along with our blankets. Therefore, we needed to start at ground zero in purchasing our next set. As always, we were overwhelmed by choices. We finally decided on the Westinghouse for several reasons. First, the blanket was described as being a bit heavier than others (Sunbeam). While we realize this may not please everyone, we prefer a heavier blanket. (We do live in Chicago.) But having said that, I'd like to point out that we don't feel smothered by it. The top of the blanket is lovely and silky smooth. The underneath is sherpa texture which is warm and cozy. Just great. The sides and the foot of the blanket have no wires and are actually made for tucking in should we wish to do so. This is the first time I've seen an electric blanket designed with a tucking in feature included. Nicely done, Westinghouse. Another new feature for us is that you can set the controls to turn off at a specific number of hours. For instance, I usually want a warm bed to get into but then it gets too warm during the night. With this blanket, I am able to set the controls so that the blanket goes off after, say, 4 hours rather than my actually having to turn it off in the middle of the night. Of course should I want it to stay on during the entire 10 hour cycle, I can set it at that too. Some have criticized the controls as being a bit too bright and you have to get used to where the buttons on the controls are. These are small and temporary inconveniences. One adjusts quickly. Although we have queen-sized beds, we purchased king-sized blankets because we like the extra drape. As I said initially, this is the best electric blanket we've owned after many years of using them. Go for it!

Upon seeing the crumpled/ used user manual and the plastic zip lock bag that the plugs and remote electronic device came in, this was obviously used by someone else and returned... and I 100% understand why. I bought a Full size heated blanket for my Queen size bed, because I only sleep on one side. Buyer beware that there are NO electric heating wires in the blanket anywhere near the edge of the blanket like on the throw heated blankets. There is no heating mechanism inside the blanket about a foot and a half (18") from the edge of the blanket from side to side. I thought perhaps maybe Westinghouse figured that part of the blanket would hang off the side of the bed. However: The blanket at the foot of the bed and the head of the bed also has about 12" with no heating mechanism, so my feet are cold, as are my arms. However: this blanket goes from heating range 1-10. I started off on setting number 4 and that was way too hot. I felt as if my legs would burn if I kept the blanket at that setting. It is -8° outside and this house is drafting, so I thought a heated blanket would be the answer to staying warm in bed without having the heat cranked to the max. I have now used this bed for two hours and even in heating setting number 2, my knees are still way too hot, but my feet and arms/ shoulders are cold, because there's no heating mechanism in the blanket in those areas of the blanket. For the money, one would expect more heating wires throughout more than just the center of the blanket. I'm afraid to leave this in while I'm sleeping , because, as mentioned, heating setting number 2 out of 10 is like having a full on heating pad over my hips and knees, but again, even with socks on my feet are freezing. I hate that Amazon resells items that were returned. This will be returned.
