Lot's of power and does it's job. My 1st time ever using a dethatcher. All the brown weeds standing up and trimmings on the ground were scooped up. I had to empty the bagger on every pass because once it's 1/3 to 1/2 full, it will leave the thatch on the ground and if you go over it a 2nd time, it damages the living grass too. For the price and what it does, this is a good value. Easy to assemble and operate. The bag is rather useless if you have a lot of thatch because it's capcity is very small. It will fill with a two foot pass. I used it without the bag and it was great. Needing a long extension cord for power is annoying and this would be a better product if battery powered. Then again, a battery powered unit with the battery and charger included would be much more expensive. I recommend this product. ... show more

When I first opened the box, I thought to myself “oh man, what did I just buy?” It looks kind of toyish. Very easy to install and you really don’t need instructions if you use logic. This thing has a kick, very powerful. It is worth the price so far I have used it twice so far so good.

This is probably the best $200 I’ve ever spent. With my mower bag and raking up leftover cut grass, I didn’t think this would do a lot. Wowzer…I was wrong. After one pass I kept having to empty the bag, because it picks up that much dead grass. My lawn looks so much better, and now I’ll be using this after every mow. ... show more

    • Dragging a 100 foot extension cord around is a pain.

First time using a corded product like this, it's a wee bit of a learning experience to keep the cord behind me. Second with a lot of dead grass I'm stopping every few feet to empty the catcher when it's only 1/2 full and won't accept any more dead grass. It's worth the price but you get what you pay for. I couldn't find a gas powered dethatcher to rent close by, so if you have a large yard, I suggest you buy a gas-powered unit. ... show more

This was very easy to assemble and easy to use. After failed attempts with a battery powered de thatcher, this worked amazing! We were able to do our whole lawn in a few house. The dethatcher rake works well. I have not used the aerator / scarifier blade. I mainly got this unit for the dethatcher. Renting one for 2 seasons would easily pay for this unit so I decided to buy this instead of renting. The unit seems light but it works well and as intended. I would recommend this as a buy if you are looking for a good home lawn dethatcher. It is small and light enough to easily store and the handle folds down. I use it with a 12/3 extension cord, 75’ using a 20A outlet. I don’t feel a loss of power with the 75’ cord. Seems plenty powerful. Will have to empty the bag frequently but just plan it in. Unit seems well constructed to last years. Not sure if I can replace individual dethatcher tines when needed in the future, or if I will have to replace the entire rake roller. I went with Westinghouse as I believe it is a USA company, although the unit is likely made in China. 5 stars as does a good job dethatching my lawn and quality should last easily a number of seasons with front and back yard seasonal use. ... show more
