    • Simply amazing Fbird guitar!
I have been playing for 20 years, played professionally and semi professionally, recorded a lot and toured a little, and I cannot say enough good things about this guitar. It looks incredible and plays so nicely. The neck is a really nice D-shape, 20.5mm at the first fret and 21.5mm at the 12th (just slightly thicker than an Ibanez Wizard, and very similar to a PRS wide thin profile). Hardware is perfectly adequate, and sounded pretty great out of the box. Tuners are good if unspectacular, and the same is true of the pickups. I swapped the pickups out, but that's totally not necessary as the stock ones are perfectly serviceable. Wiring is clean, switch is fine, pots have a nice sweep to them. Action was nice and low right out of the box and setup was pretty good, though I ended up doing one to my personal specs. For $279 I don't think it's possible to get a guitar anywhere near this quality. I wish $300 guitars were this good when I was just starting out. I used it on my most recent recording, and no one in the studio believed that this was a $300 guitar until I showed them my order. It doesn't neck dive at all when I play standing up, even after putting locking tuners on it. This is a crazy good guitar. I waited a long time for these to come back in stock, and it was absolutely worth the wait and every penny I spent on it. You will not regret buying this guitar. ... show more

    • Excellent - don't hesitate.
Color: Glossy Obsidian Black
I tried several Westcreeks.. this is the one I kept, but all of them were good. I did swap the pickups to something with slightly less output but that's completely subjective. I saw one of the original Mirages at a shop and the body size of this one is significantly larger. This is about the size of my Firebird. Zero issues with playability and finish. The tuners are solid and do not need to be replaced. ... show more

Context, I used to have an Epiphone Goth Thunderbird IV, and I inherited my dad's Paul Reed Smith Angelus. (So I was comparing to these guitars) First impression: Well packaged, strings needed tuned. Absolutely amazing finish on it. I waited to write this response till I got to try it out (I literally played it for an hour and a half before writing this). Absolutely what I was looking for, my favorite body style on guitar has been the Epiphone Goth Thunderbird IV. Which was my first guitar I actually enjoy playing it because of how it felt and how it sat on my thigh. This guitar body style was the closest I could find (without breaking the bank and not being a bass), it does just as well with comfort. Sitting on my thigh well and easily playable. I got thicker strings coming in, the strings they come on it are okay, I just prefer thicker stings. It seems to hold the tuning thus far. If I had to buy it again, I would. This is a top brand sounding guitar for an affordable price. ... show more

    • Great Guitar!! I will be purchasing another!!
Awesome Guitar!!! I did a pro setup on it , but it came pretty close from the warehouse. One thing I would suggest is taking time to, sand and polish the frets. Frets were scratchy with bending notes, but after 1500grit, and a polish we have glass!!! Highly recommend to any player level. P.S I saw alot of reviews about the Mirage "head diving " with out your hands being on it....... not true in my case!! Perfectly balanced!! ... show more

    • Westcreek Rocks

This is my second favorite guitar in a collection of 12. The finish is perfect and binding looks great. Using shipped strings and after a tune up only a slight intonation problem on the B string... easy fix. The C profile neck is a bit thicker than my Dean Zelensky Custom and eventually I will put locking tuners on...that should be standard on this guitar because it is very well made for the price point. ... show more

    • Great guitar for the value
Color: Glossy Obsidian Black
Great guitar for the price! I have a lot of higher end gear. I had to fly somewhere where Im staying a couple months. I didnt want to fly with my guitar, so had this shipped. Just to have something to practice with. I was pleasantly suprised. The fretboard is the most noticeable thing you can tell isnt superb by the feel. But I dont get any free buzz. It sounds really good too. Pickups are good too. For a price budget guitar.. this one definitely rocks ... show more
