I got this more for my transom than my keel. I put a patch on my transom so that when I am loading my kayak onto my SUV, it doesn't slide on the cement of the parking lot and gouge the plastic. There is so much on the roll that I threw a patch on the bow keel also.

First, I bought 2" to go on the bottom and front keel of my kayak for oyster rash and cement hits drags when the boat back up dragging some on the cement at the boat ramp. I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT 4INCH!! For me, the 2" wants to open back up and flatten out. Next, I personally think there should be a stronger contact adhesive. This one to me, just doesnt seem to be adhesive enough. I throughly cleaned everything with alcohol before I started. stuck the strip on, cut to size and it was done. Next day, the edges have pulled up. I had to go get some clear Gorella Glue heavy Duty tape to hold it down till it got a form. I think if I would have bought a 4" wide i would not have had a issue.

Very soft rubber. Feels like thick tire inner tube. Pics are from the first time on a local river with rounded river rock. Best use case would be for soft grass or mud without rocks. I was able to get it to lay flat with a heat gun and a hot sunny day.

The description said the product was fiberglass. It is not it seems to be a rubber PVC type of material that did not stick on the corners. Well, it came off of my creek boat, which is plastic. It should’ve stuck very well to plastic, but it did not. Perhaps I’ll find another use for it.

ONLY lasted 2x uses. I even added GORILLA Glue on the sticky side for added strength. From being outside in the hot Texas Sun and in water, some of the 'Curved Areas' started to peel. The Smooth Flat sides and still on but some of the important curve that rubs on the ground, Rubbed a holes thru the Protective tape already.

This rubber like material is black. It is not durable and slippery which are attributes needed on the bottom of a paddle craft. I almost kept it because there are many applications where it would be useful. I just couldn't think of any right then.
