Description

Remember when you could cut through 4-1/2-inch metal pipes with ease? The WEN 4-inch by 6-inch Metal-Cutting Bandsaw makes easy work of brass, aluminum, copper, steel and more. Cut pipes up to 4-1/2 inches in diameter or rectangular materials up to 4 x 6 inches in size. With three different operating speeds of 80, 120 and 200 feet per minute, achieve the perfect cut on a variety of sizes and materials. This bandsaw includes a durable stand with a collapsible handle and two 4-inch never-flat wheels to keep your bandsaw elevated and easy to transport. The beveling vise provides a firm grasp on your workpiece, allowing the bandsaw to create angled cuts anywhere from 0 to 60 degrees. Make 45-degree cuts up to 3-1/2 inches in diameter for circular material and 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches for square material. If horizontal cutting isn’t your style, simply lift the bandsaw head into the vertical position and attach the included table. Ball bearing blade guides provide a long lifespan and reliable operation while the auto-shut off mechanism automatically stops the bandsaw once a cut has been completed. Onboard blade tension and tilt knobs make for easy adjustments and minor tweaks in-between jobs. The WEN 4-inch by 6-inch Metal-Cutting Bandsaw also features a workpiece stop for uniform cuts, a pre-installed 64-1/2 inch x 1/2 inch blade, a 4.6 amp motor, and a feed rate adjustment handle to make changes to the speed at which the saw lowers itself during horizontal cutting operations. A friend suggested changing the gear oil because these Chinese products are notorious for bad oil and metal shavings in the gear box.     • Great bandsaw for home shop

We bought this for small fabrication jobs and a home blacksmith setup. The assembly was fairly straightforward and took less than an hour. So far have done a good bit of cutting, and for the most part the saw has done well. Our biggest complaint is the vise jaws are not aligned with the numbers mounted on the base. When we aligned it with zero, the cut was not square. We hen used a square to align it and tightened everything back up. After that it cut consistently square. The largest stock was a piece of 3" x 3/8" angle iron. The saw made multiple cuts through without any issues. If you are a business, be aware this does not have an oiler mechanism to keep the blade lubricated and cool if you are doing a lot of cuts. I purchased this bandsaw to replace a Dewalt 14" Chop Saw. After making a few adjustments and modifications it works great. Added some casters to it. The hole at the bottom of each leg is not sturdy enough to work with the casters. So, I have to add an aluminum plate. Horizonal. I drilled a hole in the plate to attach the casters to the legs. This is my third one. I dont know why I keep putting myself through this 🤣. First one burnt up after 6 months. Second ones cutting surface was milled sloped and third one- only used the saw on 2 other small projects- 15 easy cuts if that. Now all the sudden it’s so loud. Saw hasn’t moved since last use 2 weeks ago and mind you Im not using this in a working shop, I’m in my garage. Everything’s tight then pull gear box off and gear bent and chipped. ... show more

The package arrived with a broken capacitor, capacitor mount and a few loose bolts. However the saw still functions properly and appears to cut just fine. Assembly is confusing because of a lack of real instructions.

This saw is excellent but we had to replace the blade after a short time due to the blade that came with it split at the weld. When you lift up the saw blade from the main unit be careful as it can easily tip the entire saw over. Once we replaced the blade it cuts flawlessly and very accurate. The biggest complaint is the legs are short so you end up stooping over to set it up. Overall it is a good value ... show more
