Description

Remember when you kept the lights on? Keep your family safe during power outages and natural disasters with the WEN WEN 6,250-Watt RV and Transfer- Switch Ready Inverter Generator. The included inverter provides clean energy, free of voltage spikes and drops. Our 301cc 4-stroke OHV engine produces up to 6250 surge watts and 5000 rated watts of power, making this the perfect backup generator in case of emergencies. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this unit limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.5 percent at no load and under 1.5 percent at full load, making it safe to run laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other sensitive electronics. Our ultra-efficient 4.2-gallon tank provides up to 8.1 hours of half-load run time. The fully- packed panel comes equipped with two three-prong 120V NEMA 5-20R receptacles, two 5V USB ports, one 120V/240V transfer-switch-ready NEMA L14-30R twist lock receptacle, and one 120V RV-ready TT-30R receptacle. Maximize fuel economy and runtime by engaging the eco-mode switch. This allows the generator's engine to automatically adjust its fuel consumption as items are plugged into and unplugged from the panel, minimizing noise and fuel usage whenever possible. The lightweight body weighs 30% less than a traditional 6250-watt generator, while the included wheel and handle kit makes for easy transport and storage between uses. The panel’s data meter monitors the voltage, frequency, total runtime, and session runtime. Low-oil shutdown, combined with the built-in overload protection and indicator lights, safeguard both your generator and your electronics from damage. And because it’s a WEN product, your open frame inverter generator comes backed by a two-year warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians, and a friendly customer help line, all to make sure you remember WEN.

  • A super nice generator
Style: 6250W Inverter
I ran my cabin off generator power for 9 days while awaiting the power company to set my new meter. This generator for the ticket for me since it had 240 volt capability. Being able to power both legs of my panel was important to me. The packaging says 9-hrs on a tank of fuel; I got 19.75 hours on a full tank at 25-50%. It’s not a total enclosed inverter generator so it’s a little noisier than the fully enclosed units. I’d totally recommend this generator to anyone in the market. ... show more

  • as advertised
Style: 6250W Inverter
A little loud but tolerable. Lots of nice features. Easy set up about 1/2 hour. Runs 1/2 hp submersible well pump, no problem with regular appliances running. Easy starting, 2nd pull.

  • bit the bullet
Style: 6250W Inverter
Like most, I was really worried about shipping, looks like mine did OK, just had a scuff on the handle, even though it was wrapped in bubble wrap, it was pretty deep and you could see the metal. I had some high gloss black appliance pain in the garage, and got that covered up. I put on the wheels, feet and the arm. Im not a fan of the foam handle, its comfortable but they just never last, I did not see much about a break in procedure in the manual, and it looks like it was ran at the factory since there was some, a tiny bit of oil in the unit because it was leaking out, since the oil cap was not on tight. It was clean oil anyway. I put in a quart(full synth) , it was easy with the flex filler. It was also 95% up the dip stick. Half a tank of non ethanol and pulled the choke, gave it about 5 pulls and nothing!... forgot to turn the thing on... I mean I gave it some pulls to splash the oil around before I fired it up! With the unit ON, it fired up in 2 pulls. Noise level was fine I got the 6250i the noise is on par with my 4500 non inverter. Eco mode was a bit quieter. I ran it for a while with no load, and it ran really smooth. Plugged it into the house and you can tell it had a load now but it had no issues. I fired up the 2.5ton with a hard start kit to help with the amp load and the lights flickered(LED) and it fired up. it did burn through that half a tank pretty quick which is a bummer. I would have loved a 5gal tank like the firman. But looks like its going to do the job. I drained the carb bowl. Now ready for the hurricanes or freezes or whatever Texas can throw at me. Sorry Generac people im not paying 16000 for your whole house gen SMH. ... show more

  • Started first pull, then took a few pulls...
Style: 6250W Inverter
I bought this to hook up my breaker panel in my home for longer power outs. Put oil and gas and started first pull first time. Then it took a few pulls on restart. I'm putting a 50Amp breaker on my panel for the this Genny and plan to run most of my home with it. I have Gas range, dryer, water heater. I'll review again when I get the system hooked up and see if it works like intended. * Update- I finished my Generator Inlet system to my breaker panel for my home. Using the Interlock switch, I shut down the main and fliiped the generator breaker on. then all the other breakers. The whole house powered up! It stated again from cold on the second pull. Now I can run everything, inclucing my basements sump pump, etc. in a power out. The whole home actually. ** UPdate 6/26/24 I now leave the 240V capable cable hooked up from my Generator to the Gernerator inlet to my home. I leave the generator with a plactic tarp over the top to keep rain and snow off of it. I keep it tucked away near my inlet box/ hooked up 24/7 on my rear deck. It's out of the way at all times. Doing it this way, If we have a power out, I don't have to worry about getting the Generator, hooking it up, etc. I keep no ethanol gas in it and keep it at least 1/2 way to full.- Many hours run time. Each time I use it, and shut the fuel valve off and let it run the carb dry. I start it and run it for about 15 min. every 3-4 weeks. So far, it always starts by the second pull. I have had to use it once since I've hooked this all up in a real power out. It was a huge rain storm and our sump pump was going off every few minutes keeping the basement dry. I fired this system up and I know the neighbors wondered why I had my porch lights/living room lights/etc. on in a powerout! Update- again LOL I bought it 02/24, Now 05/25. I still start it every 3-4 weeks and run it for 10-15 min. I keep non Ethanol gas in it. I still leave it hooked up to my Generator inlet box, etc. It starts on the 2nd pull- no problems! Still very happy with my whole breaker panel back up I've installed! ... show more

  • Did not work in a crisis situation. When I desperately needed it to.
Style: 6250W Inverter
I purchased this after Helena hurricane came through. I was without electricity for seven days no water lost all my food… etc. We have had an ice storm and lost power due to trees falling. I hooked this generator up and flipped the switch to at-least power the refrigerator. Nothing. Tried just a simple coffee pot. Nothing. Called a representative and not very helpful because I couldn’t get the numbers for her because I flooded it. Two days later My neighbor got it running again a hooked up a small heater to it. It kept switching off. I would love to send this brand new generator back but it’s to heavy to box back up for me. I recon I’m out of the wasted money I paid for a 6250 watt generator that should have basically run most of my home. Not satisfied nor did it save me nor help me survive. ... show more

  • works good
Style: 6250W Inverter
works good as a backup for the house, easy to move. When camping i use a pulley to lift it in the air then drive the truck under it, leave it in the bed of the truck to use, not as quiet as some of the smaller generators but works good.

  • Good Product for My Purposes
Style: 6250W Inverter
The media could not be loaded. The generator has the features and capacity I needed for back-up power at my house. Pros: Adequate power to support VITAL domestic function in my 3 Brm/2 Ba house. Good documentation of unit functions & Info. Solid customer service. Cons: Fuel gauge failed upon initial fueling of unit due to manufacturing defect. Awaiting company provided replacement. The unit is loud!! I would like to see Wen offer a unit of this wattage, 6250, in their "Quiet" confirguration; even if not as quiet as smaller units, a scaled decrease in decibles... Watts : dB, would be a feature worth paying for as I live with neighbors on either side of me. ... show more
