OMG! this is a miracle product for hair. I don't know where to start. I have spent hundreds of dollars trying to find the right shampoo/conditioner and styling products for my hair. I saw the informercial for Wen and I was very skeptical. It took me a very long time to finally give in and give it a try. I figured what have I got to lose. I've already spent enough money on so many hair products I figured what's one more product to try. Well, let me tell you, just one use of the Wen Fig cleansing conditioner, my hair felt and looked 100% better. Before using Wen, my hair felt dry like straw and very frizzy. I have thick Wavy/curly hair and color treated (Red). Everytime I would wash my hair with regular shampoo my hair would fall out in CLUMPS. I had hair in the shower drain, hair in the sink and all over my bathroom floor. My color would bleed and could see the color go right down the drain. After using Wen, I had not one hair in the shower drain and maybe 3 strands in the sink. And the color did not bleed one bit. My white towel was actually white. And the most exciting thing was that I had no hair on my floor. I even had my husband try it. HIs hair is also curly/wavy. His results were just as amazing. We thought he had lost the curl in his hair but after using Wen just one time, his curl sprung back. UNBELIEVABLE. I had given up and was almost tempted to cut all my hair off, but I'm so grateful that I purchased this product first. I really wish I wouldn't have waited so long, it would of saved me a lot of fustration,time and money. I know some people might think the price is a little bit much for shampoo, but take it from me, in the long run, you'll be saving yourself a lot of money, time and frustration trying to find the right product for your hair. I know I've found mine and I would recommend this to everyone. I have told everyone I know about Wen and what a great product it is. I've thown out all my other shampoos/conditioner and all of the styling products I had. I only need one thing now. Today I had one of my friends try mine and she loved it so much she is going to start using it. Both my daughter and my 6 year old granddaughter are going to be using the Wen shampoo. One thing I want to mention is that, for me, I don't need to use as many pumps as they say in the instructions. I put in my second order for Wen. This time I ordered the Pomegranite. Can't wait to use it. However, I do like the fig. The smell is pleasant, not overbearing and my hair smells wonderful. I also like the tingly feeling when its on my scalp. I will be trying all of the different ones that Wen has. I urge anyone who has dry, damaged, fizzy, color treated hair, with no shine, to try this product. You will not be dissapointed. African American woman transitioning from relaxer to natural hair, type 4b hair (real nappy). I had started co-washing my hair about a month ago with some cheap hair conditioner and ugh, I didn't realize how hard cheap conditioner could make your hair, but it's recommended on the natural hair websites. Something had to be better, so I bought the knockoff offered by Sally Beauty, used it and it was alright, I used a lot of it just to be sure I was getting the best benefit and it worked ok, my hair was a little hard, but kept on wondering about the Wen. After 36 years of relaxers, I'm having to relearn how to appreciate my hair, but this stuff is amazing. I won't ever go back to another product. I got the Fig cleansing conditioner and right away my scalp tingled as i massaged it. I've been reading the websites devoted to natural hair and the warning about breakage is justified, just not so much when you use Wen, I mean a few strands ya'll, really, not a handful of hair in the sink. Another peculiar thing, when you use a pumps worth for a leave in conditioner, my hair didn't drip, it's as though the Wen holds the water, so there is no need for a towel dry. The moisture really penetrates your hair. When my hair was dry, gosh, soft, OMG, hair like I don't think I ever had and if I did, I was too small to notice. Yes, it's pricey, but when you make this decision to leave the chemicals behind, and you're adjusting to the new you and your emotions are all tied up about whether to go on and revert back or stay natural -Wen makes the journey towards an all natural hair lifestyle much much easier. I've got all this other product in my closet and am thinking about having a goodie day here on the job just to get rid of shampoos, detangler (oh man, you need to try to comb your hair with Wen, the comb glides, yes, glides right through). I've got about $200 sunk into other products I don't need, that's the only down side.

My hair is naturally red, color treated for grays, course as hell, used to be curly but is now straight. I typically use a curling wand daily, so my hair is pretty rough. I have not used shampoo for 5 months now, I started just using baking soda and water...had no idea it was striping my hair in a natural way..the texture of my hair changed as well as the color. My hairstylist was not happy to say the least. She mentioned a no shampoo form of cleansing called WEN, she had not tried it, but a few clients had sung its praises. So, after weeks of debating I decided to give the Sally's knock off brand Hair One a shot...ehh..it was nice, but did not leave my hair with that soft texture and feel. I finally gave in and bought the Fig Wen...it came in today and as soon as I got home from work I jumped in the shower to give this a shot. Immediately I could tell a difference..the texture of this cream cleanser is far thicker than Hair One. I left it in for nearly an hour...washed it out then did the traditional one pump leave in. I blow dried my hair and it feels AMAZING! It is insanely soft and manageable ...I am looking forward to getting a few more products for styling! Melinda *UPDATE* I have now used the Wen cleansing conditioner over night and have washed my hair with it every 3 days since I received it...I am just in shock. My hair is simply FABULOUS! I went to my friends house last night for a girls night and all the girls could not stop commenting on how beautiful my hair looked and felt. I immediately told them it was Wen and all of them said they had seen the infomercial and wanted to try it. I plan on giving them some small kits for bdays and Christmas. I also saw my hairstylist yesterday who actually recommended Wen...I walked in the door and she gasped..she could not believe how my hair looked since the last time I saw her. When I sat down for her to do a trim she kept touching it and saying how she couldn't believe how far my hair had come in such a short time. She said that it was fully repaired. Wen is by far the best hair cleansing product ever. I developed very curly hair as I got older and couldn't do anything with it. It was dry and coarse; it got so knotted that whenever I combed or brushed it, wet or dry, I could hear it breaking off - which of course just made it look worse. After thinking about it for over a year I decided to try a sample from an infomercial, the first and only time I purchased anything from an commercial. I ordered the lavendar because I love the smell. After one cleansing, I could get a comb through my hair on the first try in the shower! After it dried I couldn't stop touching it, it's so soft. I even brought it to my hairdresser's when I had my hair cut. Now she uses it. Since then I've tried all of them. I have settled on fig which does even more for dry hair, but I use the lavendar for the other products. I used the oil overnight (wrapped in one of those turban towels) and I have little kid soft hair again. And I don't have to wash it nearly as often. I can't say enough positive things about these products. It is pricey, and I have to use quite a bit because my hair is very thick. But not washing as often and really great, soft, controllable hair is well worth it.

Just have to add my positive review to the list above... I am getting older, no way to deny it. Under my deceptively natural-looking blond hair down the middle of my back is pure white, coarsely textured, color treated, damaged hair. I have tried everything. I have bought the most expensive products I could find. I have tried everything with a "anti-frizz", "smoothing" claim in the title or label. Nothing worked. One day I was channel surfing and happened upon the demonstation on QVC about this line of products. I had read recently that it really wasn't necessary to wash hair with shampoo every day, just add about a quarter sized dollup of conditioner and work into hair leave in during shower and rinse. I had been doing that and seeing some improvement. But still, not great. And, because I have horses, some days I just had to add shampoo. Between sweat and the dust and dirt kicked up when doing stalls and sweeping out the barn, I needed shampoo to feel clean. And I must admit, I still add a gentle shampoo after long days in the barn. It takes a few days to get that soft, silky feeling and look back after using shampoo. And honestly, if you rinse your hair well and use a little extra cleansing conditioner (I wash it out once and then reapply and leave on for the remainder of shower). As I watched the demonstration of the WEN products and saw the Fig line, I just had to try it. LOVE these products. My hair older, color treated, damaged hair, no longer has that feeling of straw. When I style it, shine is coming back. When I do nothing to it, it still looks good enough. When I use the flat iron (eeks! --- special ocassions only, but my husband loves the look), it looks great. I gave away a bunch of the shampoo that I had bought, just prior to discovering this product. Oh, and added bonus... PET SHAMPOO - I use it on my precious Yorkshire Terrier. Best product ever!!! Leaves her hair soft, silky and shiny. I have recommended it to my friends and relatives who have small, long haired dogs, especially Yorkies. Check out the description of what type of hair each line is good for. But if you have damaged, color treated, coarse hair - FIG is for you.

Since it doesn’t lather, it feels extremely light weight and rinses out well. This is a great go-to when you’re between shampoo products, want a continuous product, or need a re-set which works differently from most shampoo brands. I feel that it’s a trusted brand.

I started using Wen's Fig Cleansing Conditioner about two months ago. Prior to this I used TERRESSENTIALS "LEMON" PURE EARTH MUD WASH 8 oz (ONE BOTTLE) on my hair. I tried Terressentials Pure Earth Mud Wash alone and then used it in conjunction with an Aveeda shampoo for curly hair (Be Curly Shampoo.) I found that washing my hair with shampoo first and then using the Hair Mud stretched the life of the Terressentials' bottle which is pricy and costs a lot to ship. When I visited my salon, my haircolor was washed out--I can only attribute this to using these products. My hair color did not last as long as I would like and seemed to strip down from the roots on. I did not just see my original color at the roots but further on down the hair shaft. My hair is wavy and dark. I am an Italian American. I would say that my hair is coarse, thick and has good body. I found that the Hair mud enhanced the curl in my hair which I liked, but as it seemed to make my hair look dryer, I knew that I had to find an alternative. Of course, the Wen system bombards the informercial scene on Cable television. I had seen the ad a number of times along with Chaz Dean's presentations on QVC. The women whose heads he styled looked good--their hair looked healthy and glossy. What piqued my interest was his showing of haircolor as it fades with regular shampoo products. His example included new growth on a "Wen girl" and a typical shampoo user. There was a remarked difference between the two examples. You could see the new growth on the Wen girl as a solid line of new color. However, on the regular shampoo user, the color was drained, less vibrant and showed more grey or original color in a larger random pattern. Because of this claim to help preserve the color more consistently, I decided to give Wen a try. Let me say that when compared to the Terressentials Hair Mud, Terressentials wins from a "natural" and "organic" stance. Wen is not what I would call 100% natural--it contains multi-syllabic chemicals about which I know absolutely nothing. If there is something "harmful" in Wen, I would appreciate learning of this from other more enlightened reviewers. Terressentials is an actual mud as in "dirt" with a gritty consistency that requires an open mind--however, the fragrance--I used the Spicy Oriental, a patchouli based product, was sensational. Like hair mud, Wen requires a lot of product to completely cover my hair and get down to the scalp. Usually, I would do my entire head with about ten pumps and then redo it to make sure that I got down to the scalp. At this point I would leave it on my head as I cleansed the rest of my body in the shower. After about 5-6 minutes I rinsed my entire head. Caution: Wen will make your bathtub slick which can cause one to slip if one is not careful. Be aware of this to ensure your safety and rinse your tub afterwards to remove the aftermath. The fig fragrance is not as nice as the Oriental Spice that Terressentials offers, but it has a menthol quality that refreshes my scalp in a good way. I felt clean and fresh even though Wen does not suds at all and feels like an application of conditioner rather than a shampoo. I styled as usual and was rewarded with good results. My hair felt fresh and newly "washed." It looked good and completely conditioned. I cannot say this about my long experience with Hair Mud. Immediately, after using Wen my hair looked conditioned, softer and shinier. More manageable. Very good. I do not cleanse my hair every day, so a good test for me is if this product complements my routine. It does. My hair did not feel dirty until the normal amount of days passed. When I used it again and again during the two month period, I got the same results: easy to style, nice to look at and great hold. At the end of the two months, I do see normal growth, but my hair color is more vibrant and is indeed lasting longer. I am very pleased. Like the Terressentials Hair Mud, this product requires a more than ample application and it is pricey. Again, I do not know exactly what makes this product work or if it is harmful in any way:( However, that being said, I do like what it is doing for my hair. I have not experienced any of the greasiness or stickiness that other reviewers have reported. I will say that I do rinse a few times and I do not leave the product in my hair as is suggested. Bottom line? My two-month experience with Wen Fig Cleansing Conditioner is an overall good one. However, the price is what keeps this product from being ranked as a five-star item. My hair looks good, holds well and smells good. The fig scent is pleasant but perhaps not for everyone. This particular Wen product is good for my hair type: thick, wavy and coarse. I am African American and my hair is Natural. It is very thick, full, very curly, and dry hair. It takes a lot of patience and devotion of time and energy to maintain my hair so I need something that will not dry my hair and scalp; will moisturize and maintain the necessary moisture balance; help detangle my very unruly hair; contain natural ingredients; minimize styling time; rejuvenate, restore, and revive my hair's condition; and lastly make my hair look as healthy as it is. I first had my doubts and skepticism about this product due to the fact that over 75 percent of hair care products are not formulated for and created with African Americans in mind. I was just tired of buying all the breakthrough products that claim to moisturize, soften, and protect my hair; when in actuality they only damaged it. The most important fact that initiated my research of Chaz Dean's Wen is the absence of a detergent called Sodium Laurel Sulfate. I came to find all of the high-end shampoos that claimed to moisturize and restore health contained this ingredient. I then made a decision to try the Fig Cleansing Conditioner because I felt that I had nothing to loose considering all the money I had wasted on various other products. The first time I used the product I was amazed. The scent was very natural and home-made-like. I wet my hair with hot water to rinse away any loose debris, dirt, and left-over product. I then squeezed most of the water out of my hair using my hands. Not a towel which can damage your hair if used harsly. I used about ten pumps for every section of my hair. Since my hair is thick and full I sectioned about five parts, making sure to apply it from roots to ends, completely covering it. I then put on a plastic cap/conditoning cap. While setting up my hood-style dryer to deep cleanse and condition it I could feel my scalp tingle, which felt very good. I sat under the dryer for approximately twenty minutes. I then went to rinse out the product. I used luke warm water and began using my fingertips to help rinse out the Wen. It took about three minutes to ensure my hair and scalp was clean. I wrapped a towel around my head and took it off after a few minutes. I immediately looked at my hair and it looked much healthier and my scalp was clean. Not to mention it smelled very good. My hair was very soft and moved very well. I put about ten pumps of the Wen in my hair as a leave-in-conditioner and heat protector. I then blow dryed my hair, which only took about fifteen minutes versus about thirty with other products. My hair was soft and healthy-looking without looking overdryed. My hair moved and bounced with only the Wen. It did not weight it down or make it to oily. My hair looks great and the styles last long. I can actually say that it brought out the best in my hair. The biggest aspect is that my hair looks faboulous without any chemicals i.e. perms or relaxers. The biggest difference is that Wen is inexpensive and works. Finally a product that can actually help African American hair. I will now throw away all of those products because they are no good for me and my now healthy and beautiful hair. The only recommedation I would give is to use a natural oil in conjuction with the cleansing conditioner; i.e Carol's Daughter line of Khoret Amen hair oil or Hair Elixir. You will love the results!
