I was initially introduced to the weighted blankets by a friend who gifted me one of a different brand of the same size and a weight of 12 lbs. I really liked the gifted blanket that actually cost twice as much as this one, but wanted to try one with more weight. I got this burgundy blanket at 15 lbs., and decided to try the the 20 lb. one in grey (burgundy wasn't available). Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference in the weight when each of them was on my bed. So, I returned the 20 lb. grey one since burgundy matches the color scheme in my bedroom. There are so many things I love about this blanket. The burgundy color is actually burgundy and not red. It is not a dark burgundy, but is definitely burgundy. Although the blanket as a whole is heavy, it doesn't feel heavy when you sleep under it. Although a blanket weight is recommended depending on your weight, the size of the blanket is not considered. For example, an 15 lb. blanket would feel much heavier in a twin size than a queen size as the weight is distributed over a much larger area. Then blanket size is not considered in the recommendations. This blanket does not have any of the "scrunchy" feel or sounds that the more expensive blanket has. This may be due to the 7 layers of padding in this blanket. To sum it up, this blanket is so soft and comfy it will easily replace my comforters for the winter. I should also mention that I recently have been measuring my sleep on Samsung Watch 3 and my sleep scores have much improved since using this blanket. Prior to using this blanket, my sleep score was usually around 49 because I was awake so much of the night from tossing and turning. Since I have using this blanket my sleep scores have been consistently around 70 because I have been waking up much less during the night, and have been getting more deep sleep. UPDATE 05/06/22: Since I tend to be cold at night in the winter, I had been using this blanked primarily in the wintertime for extra warmth. This year, since spring is here, I decided to take this blanket off my bed and use lighter weight blankets for the summer. Boy, was this a mistake!! I had gotten so used to the secure and cuddly feeling provided by this blanket, I couldn't sleep, and I woke up quite a few times in the night. This was also reflected in my watch sleep scores. After a couple of nights with less good sleep, I put the blanket back on my bed. Surprisingly, I didn't get overheated at all, but I was sleeping sound again and my sleep scores immediately increased. After this experience, I will definitely be keeping this blanket on my bed for all seasons. Needless to say, I would highly recommend this blanket. I hope this review was helpful for you and will update this review if my opinion changes.

I had not heard of a weighted blanket before getting this one. I was telling a coworker how much I love to sleep under the weight of a lot of covering and she said I should get a heavy blanket. She explained to me that this is a real thing. I found this one a year ago on Amazon and gave it a shot. This thing is supper soft and wraps itself around me like a big warm hug. Because of it's weight, it just seems to fall into place all on its own leaving little if any air pockets between me and the blanket. I have never been more comfortable sleeping at night. It keeps me extremely warm and snug in the winter, and I also used it all through summer without it ever making me feel hot or overheated. I have machine washed it many times over the past year, and I have even dried it in the dryer when it was to rainy or to cold to hang it outdoors. I have had no issues with durability or any beads leaking out; it is still as good as new. I would buy this again!

Great quality, super soft and warm. Beads don't bunch up in just one corner so the weight is distributed nicely. Personally I wish I had got a slightly heavier weight but that is nothing toward this blanket it's exactly as advertised

This weighted blanket is so soft! I ordered the 15 lb. blanket for my son who has ADHD. He says it helps him fall asleep at night. It adds weight but doesn't confine movement. He also uses it while watching TV or hanging out. Great blanket.

The most cozy, soft, comforting blanket I've ever owned. The velvety fabric is really pretty, too, with a nice sheen to it. I washed and dried it before using and it came out perfectly, no issues! The label does recommend using a commercial washer due to the weight, but I went ahead and used my own machines at home. I could really hear it banging around in both, so probably not very good for your washer and dryer! I can definitely see why it is not advised. But I was so anxious to use it that I couldn't wait! I would 100% purchase again! It's the best!!!

This blanket is well distributed in weight and incredibly soft at first, but it is losing softness already. It is really heavy just warning you. I was hoping it would be, so I am thrilled with that. Quality looks to be good at this point, not very cozy for sleep thought
