I enjoy using a jump rope to warm up when I exercise. A weighted rope works the arms as well as the legs. My first impression is that the rope is probably going to out last me. For those who are used to using a speed rope it is a little different. You necessarily jump slower and exhaust quicker. I googled and found numerous benefits for jumping with a weighted rope. The one thing I would change is the handle. The handle is melted rubber over the rope. It works but it would be easier on the hands if there were handles to grasp that did not move. But connecting those would introduce something that could break. That is the only reason I gave it 4 rather than 5. I was rebated after reviewing.

The biggest problem I have faced it finding a rope heavy enough to jump. A light speed rope is too light. A child’s rope is not only light, but easily broken, with its plastic beads. I chose this rope because the rope is the weight. Some have the weight in the handles, which isn’t what I want. This rope isn’t very heavy, but it isn’t light. The bag it comes in isn’t very useful for me, because my rope doesn’t travel. But I can definitely see myself using that net bag for my yarn, to hold my knitting projects in progress.

I love the rope, provides a great workout. But like some, mine came with no nylon sleeve for the bottom and it looks as though it was a reship, someone had sent it back and they just sent it out to me, there was some wear on the bottom when I got it. I just took some good duct tape and wrapped the bottom as best as I could, but I will have to do this several times a year. Bob C

I tried it today for 45 second intervals with a 15 second rest period for 10 minutes switching between this rope & my regular rope. When you switch to your regular rope it will be light as a feather. This rope is definitely worth it. I would pay double for it, it will be a great addition to my cardio workouts. Don't hesitate buy it and have a kick butt workout.
