LOVE THIS BEAST! After buying a property that was let go for years in the country, this unit made short work of getting the weeds and thick vines cut down. If you have a hard time starting it cold, after priming, put choke on full as in the instructions. Pull the cord 3 times then open the choke and pull again. Works every time. The shoulder strap makes it easy to use for long periods of time. Never get a bad gas mix with the mixing bottle that is included. 2 spools that are pre-strung, and the blades for heavier brush, included. Extra spark plug, extra pull cord and all the tools you need to assemble the unit are included. Don’t think I’ll ever need to buy another trimmer after this.

My husband is very mechanical but had trouble assembling the machine. He finally watched the video and was able to get it together. The machine started easily but the clutch would not engage. He checked repeatedlythe shaft and the blade assembly. finally he read a review about the potential problems with the clutch. So he took the shaft off and used a large screwdriver to open each side of the clutch to ensure that it was not stuck. After putting it all back together, it engaged and he was able to use it. We have a large back yard and it is very strong and powerful.

UPDATE FOLLOWS MY REVIEW: Engine quit five minutes into the second tank of fuel. Spark plug positive electrode broke internally. Replaced plug with the spare and couldn't start it. Choke floods it. I cooked oil and gas off the plug with a torch and put it back in hot. DID NOT USE CHOKE, and it started and ran fine for half a tank, then backfired a couple of times and quit. It restarted easily and ran a few more minutes. Rinse and repeat. It finally quit and would not restart. I was too tired and disgusted to mess with it, so I came inside to write this review. Most 2-stroke engines these days run 50:1 mix. This oddball should have the fuel/oil ration in BOLD TYPE on the first page of the manual, not on page 11. Machine is not returnable. Glad I bought the protection plan, something I seldom do. UPDATE: The seller refunded $35 after I sent a video of me trying to start the engine. I took the machine to a small-engine mechanic. He said the spark plug (the spare that came with the machine) was bad and replaced it. That's all it needed. Machine started easily and ran fine, except the brand new, never used string drum flew apart. We couldn't find the spring and one of the line guides. I took it home and put the spare string drum on and went to work on tall grass, weeds, and creepers around the house. The engine has more power than needed for such work and cuts well at half throttle or less. That is, it did until the spare string drum came apart. The thing snaps together, and the plastic tabs are not strong enough. I used a metal detector to find the spring and used parts from the first one to reassemble a complete drum. I don't know how long it will last, so I'm looking for better ones. The machine itself, aside from lousy spark plugs, is excellent. If you buy one, the first thing to do is throw away the off-brand spark plugs and buy good ones.

Very pleased with this brush wacker. Works great and was a good replacement for my old brush wacker which finally gave out and I couldn’t get parts for anymore. The blades and cord it comes with all do a good job of cutting. CONS: The nylon cord that comes with the cord head is a different size than that advertised. Therefore I ordered the wrong size when refilling it. The handles angle up and out making it a little uncomfortable to use. Luckily the handles on my old brush wacker fit and I was able to switch them out. The old handles angled up and in.

This weed eater is amazing. Only downside is that it doesn’t come with assembly instructions. Thankfully it isn’t too difficult to put together. Make sure to use the included gas/oil mixture container. It needs a 20:1 mix instead of the usual 40:1. Haven’t used the included blades yet only the string. I have some pretty tall/thick weeds and the string took them out just fine, so I haven’t needed to use the other cutters yet.

Having a abig yard where years of overgrown weeds just keeps taking over everything including our driveway, this weed eater is a life saver. Didnt need to keep using an axe to wack down thick weeds that are about to grow into shrubs or trees. It does the job of your regular weed eater plus more. The only thing I probably had a problem with was putting it together. Couldn't find the instruction manual so I kind of had to figure that part out. Worked out fine though.

Its great! Very powerful, cuts small trees with the saw blade. Also the saw blade doesn't make a mess like the line does. Came with gas mixing container, awesome! Bunch of spare parts, even extra spark plug. One draw back, trigger handle very uncomfortable, needs position modifications to allow long hours of use.
