Despite what the description and marketing says this DOES NOT SUPPORT LIGHTBURN. I have years of experience with lasers and lightburn with my 90W Co2 Laser. As well as building CNC Machines and 3d printers. So you can trust me when I say I know what I am talking about. I tried for hours to get this to connect with Lightburn, when it finally did connect the framing is too slow to be of any use and then it would disconnect again and again. When I would finally try and send it a job to start cutting or engraving it would just sit there and lightburn would say it was working, but it wouldn't do anything. These are known issues that many people online have experienced with no luck, yet they continue to advertise full functional with Lightburn. Because of this you are stuck with their stock MakeIT software which is hands down the worst laser software I have used. Its user interface is very confusing, the material grids for testing only have material tests up to 600 mm/s no where near the 6000 mm/s advertised. It doesn't import vectors correctly after using the same vectors with other software. If I were to list every issues I have found with the software this review would be 4 pages. Yes you can use this machine and use the software does work, but it very much has a good enough vibe and did just enough to get by. If you are looking to use this for anymore than just fun casual engravings you will quickly be annoyed. Save yourself some time and mental aguish and buy the XTool F2. Its a little more expensive but well worth it. Thats what I have now.

Laser engraving functionally is good, but there are some basic quality of life things that need work. One thing I really like about the Lumos is the amount of space you have within the work area. This allows you to close the protective shield even with slightly larger items. Something that can't be said for its direct competition. Another thing I love is how easy they've made it to do color engravings on stainless steel. The process walks you through it and gives consistent results. Again, something I wish Wecreat's competition would consider. UI/UX is where this engraver and WeCreat come up short. The MakeIt! Studio software is laid out strangely, doesn't seem to use industry standard terminology, and it's not always clear why things aren't working or are disabled. For example, "color" engraving is only amables provided you're on "Red Light" (IR) which is fined but blue diode lasers are capable of color engraving as well. Another issue I faced was that the AF button doesn't work on mine. It's not a big deal as the jog dial for focus/height adjustment is great and makes things easy enough. Because of this, I think WC could have opted to omit the AF button altogether and saved a bit of cost. Other things I'm not fond of is that the unit never goes to sleep. There is no built-in sleep mode. The system fans spin up fairly loudly when it's just sitting idle. And every time you manually turn it off, you have to reset reconfigure the WiFi connection over USB. It's interesting because my network shows the laser's MAC address associated all previous IP addresses but I still have to reconfigure the WiFi. It's an even worse experience with the mobile app. The price is honestly super competitive to competitor offerings, but with the lower price, you're going to face convenience and quality of life issues. What that's worth to you is your call, but for me I ultimately decided this laser isn't going to work for what I expect out of a machine like this. The Lumos has so much potential; the less than optimal software and firmware make this a no-go for me.
