Not all shade is created equal when it comes to UV. If you have a sun allergy this is the perfect umbrella. Just as awesome though, the flower design is on the inside!!

I was so excited to get this umbrella. It is really beautiful and unfortunately after a few uses a gust of wind blew it backwards and broke the rods thet keep the umbrella open. If you live in a windy area this may not be the umbrella for you. But it keeps the sun from beating on your head well! It was a beautiful sunny day but it was windy and it didn't hold up against wind very well. So I no longer have it.☹

In Hawaii, winds are extreme and random because it's a random island out in the pacific. Sunlight is very intense and there can be random rain sometimes. However, since winds are frequent and very strong, I broke 3 ordinary umbrellas, one even claiming it could survive up to 70MPH, on this island in 2 weeks alone. This umbrella, however, was different. The design allows for the umbrella to sway in and out in the wind, sometimes inverting, but keeping you safe from the sun no matter what. Out of all the umbrellas I used in Hawaii, this one inverted the most but lasted the longest. Within 2 weeks, the anti-inversion cords on other umbrellas had completely broken and the umbrellas broke the very next day. This one worked well for about 2 months, until another strong wind storm hit it and surprisingly, the bottom is the part that actually broke, but it took more than 500 gusts of wind for that to happen. Nothing will last forever in Hawaii considering the fierce climate, and this SPF50 umbrella has kept me from experiencing acne and getting tanned, which would happen otherwise since I walk about 2 miles to the grocery store very frequently. I'm honestly surprised this umbrella lasted as long as it did, and while I'm sad I have to get a new one, I'm glad that this work of engineering had put up with the weather for this long already. I'll attach an image of the fail point. Normally, the top of the umbrella breaks and makes it unable to protect yoy, but this one didn't and wasn't even close. If you're using this in regular weather, it should be good for a lifetime. You won't be needing a replacement any time soon. For those wondering, yes this umbrella also protects against rain, even though it's advertised to protect against the sun. It does both.

Its a really pretty umbrella. The only thing is its really hard to close well honestly at less I know its really strong. I got the blue pink one. And I use it alot cause i live in a very hot environment right next to the equator. And using it feels like I'm under a house. That's my opinion.

Aside from the pretty print on the outside your umbrella is easy to open and closed and it does lower the heat some from the sun. I also like the shade it gives. I would recommend if you are looking for a good structured umbrella.

I just received this umbrella and took it outside because I live in the desert and it's a 105 outside right now. It does protect you from the sun, but it's pretty heavy, and it's very hot underneath the umbrella. I felt like I was walking in a cone of heat and I could feel the heat with my hand on the umbrella undersurface. When I took the umbrella away from me I didn't feel the heat except of course the sun on my head, but my whole body did not feel like it was enveloped in heat. Also it's a very heavy umbrella. It's compact but even though, it weighs a lot and would add some extra weight to my luggage or shoulder handbag. It's also a little heavy to hold and walk with. It's a short handle as some others have said and I can see fatigue setting in quickly. And I'm not a fragile person. I used to use a light colored compact regular umbrella you use to protect you from rain and those have worked fine in the past for the sun too. I just have to find mine, it's somewhere in a closet.
