    • Buy one, Weatherguard can not be beat.
I am a general contractor. I own many Weatherguard boxes that I have mounted to my work trucks and dump trailers. This particular model box is mounted on the truck I drive daily. I open and close my truck box a minimum of 10 times a day. I purchased this to replace the same box that I owned for over 12 years. The only reason that the box failed is due to my abuse. The failures were... -The hinge tore slightly away from the lid, where welded. -The lock welds separated. -The lid welds separated from the internal supports. Again, all due to misuse. This box shouldn't have lasted as long as it did. I also wonder had I purchased the steel version if I would still be using it today. The welds were the only issue. I am extremely impressed with the quality of this box. I abused this daily and put it through abuses that it was not intended to be subjected... -Stacking 20+ sheets of 5/8" drywall on top of it. -Overfilling the box with tools and jumping on it to get it latched. -Pulled it in and out several times a year for hunting trips. -Using it to stand on, weekly. -The list goes on... The box is weather tight in rain and snow. So I would recommend this box or any other Weatherguard product to anyone. I would also recommend that someone who is going to buy a tool box for daily use to only buy a Weatherguard or high quality box. I have owned a couple cheepo's over the years and they are a huge waist of time and money. Save up and buy the best, it will save you money in the long run. I ended up repairing my old beat up box and mounting it in my weekend truck, which I won't use much. So I can say that I still have in use every Weatherguard product I have ever purchased. The were multiple dents in the box, the welds were hideous and weld splatters all over.

    • Great box forfifth wheel RV accessories.
Well built with cavernous interior easily compartmentalized wih milk crate style crates. Biggest drawback, can only be opened from driver side. Difficult to close from ground level. Did not arrive undamaged though not visible when installed.

Well made and heavy duty. Glad I paid the money. This is where a cheaper one will cost you more in the long (or short) run. Not to mention the headaches. This fits flush with bed side so any kind of bed cover will not work I think. My Ram 3 piece folding cover latches need more clearance. A roll up type may not let you open cover all the way. If that is important check it out. l did not drill holes in my Ram bed. I have a spray factory bed liner with tie downs in the 4 corners. Drilled holes in tool box a little lower and towards the cab. This placement keeps it down and against the front of bed. I then cut j bolts to fit from tie downs through drilled holes so get ones with treads the whole length and acorn nuts. Side clearance is tight so only my wife's arm would fit between box and side. I also had to cut a 2x4 frame to fit in the indentation that Dodge puts in the front of the truck bed. I call it a must have for any box in the Ram. The good news is the 2x4 width is perfect for the bed indentation and the front of the truck bed will not bow. I used treated wood. No idea how GMC and Fords boxes are shaped. A day's work but I have no rust holes in my truck bed which would make a huge difference if I sell or trade. ... show more

Everything I've always wanted in a truck box!! Weathertight, extra large but with a low profile, black in color for my black truck and most importantly, SECURE!!! With heavy duty, car door style latch and hideaway open button, thieves would probably fight with this thing for HOURS to open it, if at all. I have 3 backpacks and 1 duffle bag of tools, a weed eater, a blower, a gas can with room to spare! Puts those big box store toolboxes to shame! I have it in a long bed 1995 F-250 and it takes up about a third of the bed which is no problem for me. I've seen this particular box as high as $1100 but I paid $749 with free shipping here. My friends drool over this box but they can't spend $750 on a tool box. If you can swing it, you won't be disappointed! ... show more

Great box. Installed in a 07 Ford F350 short bed. This is NOT made to fit a short bed, but I needed a large box. If you don't care that much about your wheel wells in your bed you can bang them in with a large hammer. Then repair each wheel well with a bonding adhesive to protect from rust and debris. Worked great for me. Not suggested for someone that is not handy. Best box I ever bought. ... show more

Nice box but gets water inside box when truck is parked with nose down hill and bed gets standing water in it. Had to have second one shipped, first one had three large dents from shipping. Amazon shipped second one right away.
