The sound quality is awesome to my ears , I know some audio geeks will rant about the 12Khz cut off but heck I can tell and it sound solid to me. The build quality is that of a minimalistic premium quality product, the type that is not overly complicated with too many features that the average person would not truly know what they actually do. There were times that I did notice a slow playback and I am not sure if it was the tape (which was a fairly new tape) and the battery was supposedly fully charged. After letting it sit off for a while things seemed normal, hopefully it was a one off and not a real issue? (Fingers Crossed). I recorded 2 tapes using the blue tooth function and music streaming from my desktop computer and the levels set to just below the 0db on the meters. The recording sounded really really good to me. I played the tape back on my portable We Are Rewind Cassette recorder walkman and it sounded great, so yeah I am really digging this unit. Just hope that that tape speed issue I had experienced was a one off thing and not an issue looking to rear its head soon. I recommend perhaps rewinding and fast forwarding tapes that have been sitting for a while to loosen them up a bit. The more I think of it perhaps the issue could have been with the tape it self. *shrug* But over all I love the sound and the feel of the controls. It sorta reminds me of those high end recorders from back in the day. This product is pretty tight it’s high quality sounds good looks great !! But I mean it’s a glorified blue tooth speaker …..the biggest negative I was under the impression it was a little bit more guitar amp like it’s not but it’s a vibe

Got the machine in. Sounded great on blue tooth then through in some tapes. Did not go well. Had problems with playing sound. I think the pick up. Went through 30 tapes. So inconsistent with playback. I returned it last week as the seller was not helpful in helping me out. They wanted me to take alcohol and clean heads and stuff. I’m disappointed. Don’t know if I’ll order another one. Still waiting on whether I get a refund. Seller WAS NOT proactive. ... show more

The only reason it lost a star is that it’s a bit pricey. I’m loving it - sound is great, bass is amazing for such small speakers. At first I thought it could maybe benefit from a radio, but honestly don’t miss it at all as I’m utilizing Bluetooth to run the radio apps on my phone. Really sturdily made, love the fact it has a rechargeable lithium battery that allows you to move it around easily. Tapes sound the way they’re supposed to - never were the best quality back in the day but they do sound better here than I remember from the 1980’s. Also been using it as a guitar amp. It’s just a great multifunctional piece of equipment. I’m glad I bought it & I’m sure I’m going to use it a lot. If it were $100 cheaper it would be right in the sweet spot but if you don’t mind the price I’d highly recommend for sound quality & multi function aspect of the “boombox” ... show more
