Directions: It's better boil with soda. Recently I have seen a lot of customer feedback about red water problems. I went to do a tannin removal experiment, add soda and boil, boil for 15 minutes. Soak in hot water until the water is cool. Add new water and continue to boil, cycle 3-5 times. My experiment was repeated four times. Then continue to soak in water, change the water once a day, and remove tannins need for 4 days.

This spider wood is amazing. I wasn't sure what I was going to get and I was a little concerned about it. It wasn't packed well but nothing was damaged. I got three pieces one was 8 in, one was 9 in, and one was 12 inches long. They are all very interesting looking pieces. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with the tank but once these arrived I knew exactly what I wanted to do and one of the pieces was so distinct that I knew it had to be front and center in my tank. It even stood up which was even better. I soaked them for about a day and a half in hot water changing the water several times a day. Then I boiled them for 30 minutes each having to flip them because my pot wasn't big enough. They never floated when I put them in the tank which was great they actually just stayed at the bottom and they look amazing. I would totally order again! I love the size, I love the fit, there was no odor, they're great quality they're exactly what was described. Order it you won't be disappointed. I put standard scissors in the pic for size reference.

I order in two sizes and loved the pieces I got in each package. They are beautiful and very unique. You do have to have some creativity when it comes to arranging them. They are an amazing price in my opinion. The sizing is pretty accurate although you may get a talk piece or a relatively skinny piece with no branches jutting out. I soaked them to remove some of the tannins but I probably could have soaked longer, but I got impatient. They released some tannins, but it’s healthy for the type of fish I own. They have been in My Tank quite a while and have no issues and have not broken down.

I’m so pleased with the looks of these pieces of driftwood. Was a little apprehensive as to what the pieces would actually look like but as you can see they’re interesting with lots of nooks to tuck plants and a cave like twist for a future pleco. These will look great in my 40 gallon breeder tank.

So this is my first time ever have an aquarium, let alone driftwood. I bought these two pieces, and they are beautiful, even though they are a bit smaller than I anticipated. I saw everyone saying in the reviews and the product listing to boil the heck out of this wood, and I did just that. I boiled water and dumped it in a small cooler I had since I didn’t have a pot or pan big enough to use to boil water with the wood. I did this roughly once every day or two for a little over three weeks and the water I was dumping out after letting it sit was STILL brown. I finally just said to heck with it and put them in my tank. Water has not turned color at all since adding, but I also have a Seachem Purigen packet in my filter so, that might be helping . They sank just fine thankfully, so no issues with floating up or having to anchor them with something. I’m like 90% sure this wood was sprayed with some sort of coloring or treatment because it just felt really chalky upon arrival. But regardless, it is nice wood. Just don’t buy if you plan on using it quickly because this requires so much time and patience.

I was very excited by the size & shape of these pieces when they arrived. I anticipated a significantly long cleaning process, given some of the reviews, but mine actually were incredibly clean. The picture in the tub is during the second soak, and the picture of them floating in the tank was after several hours in the tank. It did not color my water at all. The pieces were smoothed and have no “sharp” edges to be concerned about. I saw people frustrated with how long it took for them to sink. I put mine in the tank on 2/2, and they were submerged by 2/9 (third pic). Overall, I have been incredibly pleased with the quality, the size, the price for the quality, and the quickness in which they arrived.

I was sure that they would be overstating the sizes so I ordered a bit larger than I wanted (7"-11"). Nope, bang on. Pieces were varied but very good looking wood. Tannins are extremely bad. Very dark reddish brown water after soaking in hot water. But that is what you get with very new dense wood. These pieces are not thin and dried out. Happy enough, that I ordered another batch in the 5"-9" size. Just plan on soaking and boiling A LOT before using. Edit: 18 days later. I've boiled these pieces and have had them in a bucket since the day I received them. I change the water multiple times a day with the hottest tap water possible. The water is a deep brownish red. No sign of letting up. Do not buy unless you want a blackwater tank. Edit: Over a month later. These pieces are leeching tanins like nobody's business. I would not recommend unless you REALLY want a brownish red tank. 2nd picture above is a goldfish tank where I did a 75% water change TWO DAYS AGO! Compare to a no-wood tank next to it.

Size: Mopani driftwood （13-17 inch pack of 1）
Payed extra for 2day delivery for nothing package arrived late. UPDATE: The wood arrived late but it is an interesting shape. Lots of twists and turns, knots i easily drilled into tunnels, and it’s solid. I boiled for max 2 hours the water was red brown, bet my Kuhlis would have loved that but I didn’t take a chance. Others have said the wood is dyed or resin dipped. I make epoxies, don’t think this is dipped. Dried it a day and drilled into it, it’s real red wood. Honestly I messed up not taking pictures of this piece outside of the tank because in the “under carriage” area, it’s got this completely natural cavern shaped knot, if I could have designed a piece, this would be close. Idk, I’d take another chance.
