Pros: -really is beautiful. No boring chunks of wood. -Each piece slightly greater the size stated slightly so you get an amount equal to or greater than you paid for. -pieces are chosen to complement each other. -Most pieces can be placed in a variety of positions (right side up, upside down on its side) versus some that can only go in one or 2 sides these are more versatile. -lots of branch or root extensions to create hiding places and underwater worlds -Way way way cheaper than any pet store. -ship fast and packed safe -dirt cleaned off before shipping. Arrived clean without excess bark or rotten wood Cons: -Need to be boiled 2 or 3 times. I actually soaked the wood in a bucket and changed the water a few times, boiled once, put back to soak in bucket a couple days. I boiled one more time and that was probably a little excessive (Some tannins are good for your tank.) -you need to wait to put them in unless you want to boil 3 times (completely boil and then soak in bucket in between boiling every few hours. -Can’t choose any of the pieces. -may need to cut wood to make the shape you want Overall great pieces at a great price. I am always hesitant to order decorative wood sight unseen. I often go into a scape with a specific vision in mind. That being said, I had run out of options as none of my local stores had what I wanted. After too much research I found this listing with promising photos and good ratios. Fantastic pieces!!! Great texture and dynamic shape. These were able to take my boring centerpiece stump to the next level! I did pre-boil 3 times to remove tannins and help them sink. But that is nothing I wouldn't already do to any aquarium wood. Definitely 10/10 purchase ... show more

I usually like to hand pick items I plan on using for design pieces, but this company did not disappoint. Beautiful driftwood. Boiled hot water and placed in a very large bucket and let it set overnight. I rinsed the driftwood and let it set in another pale of water (this time cold water) over night. Set up aquarium next day. No tannins (color) in new aquarium at all. Would recommend. Would buy again. ... show more

I was really impressed with the wood: I received well packaged and interesting shapes, two larger and one smaller. Like other reviewers noted, there are a LOT of tannins so be aware. I did 3 days of booking (regular water changes once the water was too dark to see thru), then about 2 weeks of soaking with water changes as needed. The two larger prices have been amazing in my tank with no issues, the smaller piece never was able to get saturated enough to sink so it floats in my large aquarium even now after a few months. The two larger pieces have been in my 30 gallon shrimp aquarium about 3 months now with no issues. The smaller piece floats in my 55 gallon aquarium, and still have enough tannins after 3 months of use to cause light water coloration after about 2 weeks (turns to the color of weak ice tea), but it's not unattractive and easily remedied with regular water changes. Doesn't bother the fish, and actually the floating log is a great addition for my top dwellers. All in all, a bit of work on the front end but we'll worth for the price and quality. ... show more

Great selection of medium small driftwood pieces. I liked using them in my 4 gallon tanks as well as my 10 gallon. Unfortunately, one that I had half submerged in the tank and half exposed in the air did mold at the intersection. I'm currently treating the wood and testing to see if it's something to do with the tank or just an oddity of the nature of wood. ... show more

I’ve been soaking my two 12in pieces for two months now. They are still releasing a TON of tannins. I’ve boiled them in short time frames also. The pieces are beautiful and exactly what I wanted but I’m having the toughest time getting them clean. —- EDIT —— I put the wood in my tank and it’s BEAUTIFUL. I added purigen to my filter and don’t have an issue with tannins. Very pleased with this purchase! ... show more

I have bought the 3 pieces 7-11 inches ones first, and like it so much I bought this 2 piece 9-14 inch ones. Even though the receives pieces are around 9-11 inches only, the shapes are nice, so I don't mind is a bit on the small side. The only problem that I have to deduct one star is with the more leggy piece which is one that like more, one of the legs were broken off. I don't know if it is because of shipping or not. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars. I will probably glue it back, but the glued joint will probably become more obvious as the piece aged under water. ... show more

After reading about how many tannins yhis had, I was concerned. I did 1 piece at a time yo make sure I didn't mess up but my method worked. I boiled for 2 hours for 7 days, soaking in clean water in between , with salt and baking soda. I let it soak in a bucket for the next 3-6 days, and when the watcher was practically clear, I put them in the tank. 2 weeks later on each, everything I great ... show more
