After trying several different crimpers and curlers to make beach waves, I have FINALLY found the BEST crimper for beach waves!!! This crimper is light weight and so easy to use. The material is smooth so it glides through your hair effortlessly without pulling on your hair like other crimpers I have tried. I love that it beeps to let you know when to move on to the next section. The three settings make it so easy to control how much heat you put on your hair. Because the crimper is so lightweight and user-friendly, it literally takes me 5 minutes to finish my entire head (and I have a LOT of hair)! The short version: I have very straight, waist-length hair that doesn't hold a curl particularly well, I hate using styling products, and I have absolutely no patience or skill with a curling iron. I bought this after seeing it on TikTok and have been genuinely surprised by how easy it is to use and how well the waves hold—even without any product. It takes me about 15–20 minutes to do my entire head. For the detailed folks: I bought the Wavytalk Power Wave specifically because I wanted that soft look I can get from sock curls, but without dealing with sleeping in it. I've never managed to get the hang of a curling iron, so I wanted something pretty foolproof. And this is it. I saw someone demonstrate overlapping each crimp slightly as you work down the section of hair. Doing that creates consistent, symmetrical waves rather than an obvious "crimped" look. There's really not much technique involved. Clamp, wait, move down the section, overlap the previous wave slightly, and repeat. My hair reaches my waist, and I can do my entire head in about 15–20 minutes, which I consider pretty impressive given how much hair I'm working with. The one area that's a little challenging is getting close to the scalp. Because of the shape, it's very easy to accidentally touch your scalp if you're trying to get the wave all the way to the root. I've learned not to be overly ambitious there. My hair is naturally very straight and generally doesn't hold a curl particularly well. I've used the Power Wave several times now on both freshly washed and dirty hair, and the waves have held remarkably well. I also don't use any styling product to help them hold. I hate the feeling of product in my hair, so I'm using this on completely product-free hair (other than heat protectant). The fact that I can get lasting waves anyway has impressed me. The finished result is much more like the soft waves I get from sock curls than the tighter curls you'd get from a traditional curling iron—which is exactly what I wanted. One very annoying feature The tool helpfully beeps when it's time to release the clamp and move to the next section. In theory, that's useful because you don't have to count or guess how long you've been holding it. In practice, I find the beep incredibly annoying. I'm neurodivergent and have misophonia, so this may be entirely a me problem. I just put my AirPods in while I'm doing my hair, which is also what I do when I blow dry it. If you're particularly sensitive to repetitive electronic beeping, though, it's worth knowing about. I'm really impressed with this thing. It's quick, requires very little technique, works on my extremely long, straight hair, and produces waves that actually last without hairspray, mousse, or other styling products. If you like the look of brushed-out overnight curls but don't want to sleep in socks/rollers/braids—or you're hopeless with a curling iron like I am—this is a really easy way to get that look on demand.

We love this! There are 3 girls in the house, all with different hair types. I appreciate that you can adjust the heat to match the hair types. It’s a fast fix too, making the transition in the morning easier. I like the beeping it makes to let us know when to move it down. I feel like it helps my girls be independent and not fear them burning their hair off. The color of the crimper is a plus. The wavy style hair seems to be popular lately and it does a great job of doing that if you won’t want the crimps to be super close! Overall great purchase.

Heats up fast, gives a beautiful beach wave, but you have to stay "on the right track" of the hair (if you've waved before, that should make sense). Its very obvious if you move off track. Also, its easy to grab too wide of a section, at which point your hair gets caught between the plates. Ouch. This was not my first waver. It does the trick, but it won't be my next.

This is a great waver and I use it often! I were extensions so the adjustable temp is a must. I have long fine hair and do not feel it has compromised the integrity of my hair at all It would work great with any hair length. Easy to use and not overly bulky like other wavers. Creates nice soft deep waves and you can get very close to the scalp if you want. The quality is good and overall I am very happy with this purchase.

This is much better than the other typical hair wavers out there. It doesn’t make your hair look like ramen noodles! Hold the waver at an angle for the best result. It took me a little getting used to like most hair tools, so I did a practice run with it, but it turned out so well! As the waves fall a bit it looks even more natural! I have natural waves but they tend to fall a day after washing or my hair is straight in some spots and wavy to curly in others. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for to help achieve a natural looking wave! Bonus that it doesn’t scald you easily like other hot tools and it’s much more compact than other hair wavers! Highly recommend!
