I was pleasantly surprised by how effective this caulk tape turned out to be! I had cracked grout in the floor tiles of my shower, right along the edges where the floor meets all three walls. Initially, I tried using a typical silicone sealant. I applied it carefully and covered it to prevent water from reaching it during normal shower use. Even after seven days, it remained soft and wouldn’t dry. I suspect lingering moisture in the shower area was preventing it from curing properly. Interestingly, I used the same silicone sealant from the same bottle on the exterior of my windows and along some bricks outside, and it dried perfectly within 24 hours. This led me to conclude the issue wasn’t the sealant itself but rather the environment in the shower. After some research on Amazon, I decided to try this caulk tape product. It comes in two rolls, each 10 feet long, totaling 20 feet. At first, I hesitated, thinking 20 feet might be excessive, but I went ahead and ordered it anyway. To my delight, I was wrong—20 feet turned out to be the perfect amount for my project! I started by scooping out all the soft, uncured sealant from my previous attempt. Then, I thoroughly wiped down the area and placed a fan in the shower, running it for an hour to ensure the surface was completely clean and dry. With the surface prepped, I began applying this tape-like sealant. Initially, I underestimated the included tool, but it quickly proved its worth. The tool made all the difference, allowing me to apply the tape precisely along the edges where the cracks were, without any fuss. It helped position the tape perfectly, ensuring a tight seal between the floor and walls. Another standout feature of this tape is its design. The side edges are tapered rather than uniformly thick, which is a brilliant touch. This design allows water droplets from showers to roll off easily, preventing pooling and potential damage. I was genuinely impressed by this thoughtful detail. The application process took me about an hour to cover all four long edges of my shower. After the initial application, I had enough tape left to reinforce all four corners. I applied it vertically and doubled up on the sides at each corner for extra protection. In the end, I used every single bit of the tape with no waste—a perfect fit! Using the provided tool, I went over the tape surface again, pressing it firmly against the wall and floor to ensure strong contact with all surfaces. After installation, I did some tests, and the tape performed exactly as described. It’s been a reliable solution so far, and I’m confident in its durability. I would highly recommend this product to anyone facing a similar issue with cracked grout or moisture-prone areas in their shower. So, i got this tape and am delighted to report that I made a good choice.
