You know all these new area rugs that are super thin and boast machine washability? The ones that are affordable, attractive, readily available and love to bunch up under foot and are so hard to vacuum? This rug pad is legitimately the perfect solution for these new rugs! Seriously, it’s such a night and day difference that I never thought I’d be so excited over a rug pad. This rug pad resides under a super thin, washable rug in my kitchen, keeping it well in place on slippery tile. I was drawn to the promise of waterproofing in the material, so that I could protect both the rug on top and the floor underneath. The grip is amazing and the felt layer actually is water repellant. I would not call it 100% waterproof, but it is water and moisture repellant in that the liquid doesn’t soak all the way through the rug pad, and is easy to wipe down with a microfiber cloth. It’s a sturdy pad that can withstand scrubbing, vacuuming, and spot cleaning. The felt topper works well to keep the silky, thin rug in place, without any sliding around, unlike with the rubbery, mesh looking rug pads. The rubberized bottom is honestly a great safety feature for a slick rug in a high traffic area because it just doesn’t budge. The size is spot on. I did not need to trim any portion of this to fit underneath a 5’ by 7’ rug, thus I cannot speak to ease of cutting, though I imagine with how thin it is, it would be a simple process to trim to size. The thickness, or rather thinness, is shockingly cushy under foot and makes the overall rug look more like a classic, thick area rug, without showing the rug pad underneath by its side profile. There was a bit of new factory, chemically smell at first when I opened it but that smell did not stick around once aired out for a day. Just let it breathe before placing the top rug on there and the smell shouldn’t linger. Overall, it’s functional, practical, will prolong the life of my rug, and is protecting the grout underneath from any spills in the kitchen. This was a good find. I will be picking up another for the living room, so that we can protect our hardwood floor from pet and kid spills and messes.

I love this under rug carpet pad. We have tile flooring and use a lot of rugs and mats. It is a challenge to find solutions so we aren’t moving around or slipping. I love this product because it solved the problem. Very easy to use and lay down. I was able to easily trim the pad to make it perfectly fit our rug. The rug lays over the top of the pad and there is no movement at all., even with three little grandchildren running around on it all day. The rugs stay where we lay them. Incredibly happy with this product.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT waste your money on this rug pad, ordered 1/8 thickness and received 1/16 if I'm lucky. Absolute nightmare to get creases out, probably going to trash this one as it's not even worth $20 and buy a better quality one. Very disappointed in this cheap junk.

More convenient and flexible than using carpet tape. I have a few rugs that I'd like to use over wood flooring, but they have no rubberized backing and are too slippery. This carpet pad works perfectly to solve the problem. It arrived folded up, but it flattened out completely over just a few days. I like that it didn't have any noticeable chemical or plastic smell. I'm using the 1/8 inch model, and it's not visually noticeable, even under a very thin area rug. It looks like it would be easy to cut to size if needed. I am currently using it under a much larger rug, and it provides enough grip to hold it in place. This thin carpet pad provides just a little bit of extra cushioning. If you want a quick and easy solution to keeping an area rug in place, this may be the answer.

Quality is fine and delivery was great but this was either falsely advertised at 1/4 in thick or they sent me the wrong size. When I measured the thickness it barely is 1/8 in thick. I can barely tell there is a pad under my carpet. Disappointed.

This works great under my thin, machine-washable rug. Best of all, my rug does not slide around any longer! I was getting so tired of pulling the rug out from under the chair it was bunching up under every day or so. My little dog likes to play fetch and when I toss her toy she skids to a stop when she reaches the toy and the carpet slides. Now it doesn't do that any longer! The pad that I ordered is thin - only 1/8 inch thick, but it really does add that little bit of extra soft feel to the rug.

I ordered this to go under a thin machine washable rug that I have in our living area. When it arrived and I saw how thin it was and how many wrinkles were in it, I didn't think it was going to make a positive difference but I have been pleasantly surprised. It didn't change it to an enormous degree but it definitely feels softer and nicer to walk on. it is also easier to vacuum. What I appreciate most is that it has stopped my Great Dane from sliding the rug into the wall whenever he gets excited. The underside is covered by a layer of rubber and it sticks the rug place even as 140 pounds comes running. It works really well and I'm glad I ordered it. I gave it a slightly lesser rating because it seemed kind of expensive when compared to actual rugs of the same size and because it took quite a bit of work to get the wrinkles to lay down before I could put the rug over it.
