I've never bothered with a rug pad before, but I recently replaced a rug that didn't have a pad and saw how nasty the floor under the rug can get (pets make everything filthy). I chose this pad for its waterproofness, and ended up happy with that and more. It was delivered folded up, and laid flat pretty quickly. Pay attention -- one side is softer and the other side is harder. Which side goes down depends on what type of floor you're putting it on (hardwood vs. carpet, etc.). The instructions tell you which side is right to make the pad slip proof on your flooring type. After that, I laid the decorate rug on top. The pad is slightly large than my rug and was easy to trim to size. I just used a box cutter and a thick piece of cardboard and trimmed about an inch back under the two sides where it was too long. Five minutes, tops. Now my rug is *actually* soft and comfortable to sit on, and my floor is protected from messes. Happy with this pad Highly recommend

This is a solid and heavy rug pad! I live in an older cabin with wood floors that currently have no insulation under them. I was able to use the sharp carpet cutting knife to cut this to an 8x10 piece to fit under my living room rug. This left me a nice ten foot long six foot wide piece to work with to use elsewhere. This padding doesn’t just give some extra cushioning under the already soft and pretty thick rug but will help keep the cold air from under the floorboards from seeping upwards. This is a really good choice for padding and I definitely recommend it for purchase. 👍👍

This rug pad fit perfectly under my 5’ x 7’ rug. It adds more cush and prevents the rug from slipping. The pad is barely 1/4” thick and could be thicker. When I took it out of the bag, the pad was folded with creases so I put it in the dryer under delicate cycle with a wet towel to remove the folds. Some of the TPR backing side melted and puckered up. So do not expose the pad to heat!

This 1/4 inch rug pad provides just the right amount of cushioning without raising the rug too high off the floor. It adds noticeable comfort under foot, especially on hardwood floors. The pad stays securely in place preventing the rug from sliding or punching. It also helps extend the life of the rug by reducing wear and tear. The materials is durable, was easy to trim and didn’t leave any residue behind. It was easy to lay out under the rug and improved the feel of the rug. We ended up buying a lesser expensive rug and using the nicer rug pad. ,Overall, it’s a simple upgrade that makes a big difference in comfort and safety.
