I had to replace similar rugs in the front hall that animals had pee accidents on and the backing had fallen off and stuck to tile floor. I had purchased them at Walmart to be able to have people wipe their feet before they walked in the house as well as leave shoes boots et cetera on. Over the years they fell apart and I was not convinced of their safety. Purchased these new ones because I wanted something that was non toxic and with latex backing. I believe they are supposed to be nylon and latex. They are so much softer than the ones I had and exactly what I need without any toxic smell. These are a great size for the entrance to the house and wash up well in the washer and dryer. The only problem is the ends are unraveling after washing. I really like the rubber backing.
