Size is good, my only reason to buy it was to put near the door for my cats to jump up and play on. The material is soft, yet it has good durability, my cats like to roll on it, sleep on it, or even use it as a scratch pad. I have not seen any fraying of material or any loose threads after a week of my cats using it, so I guess it is durable enough. It is also lightweight which makes it easy to pick up to wash the dust off, usually it just needs a little shake and the dust falls off, but if I need to I can also rinse it with water. It has an anti-slip underside to prevent it from sliding across the floor
